Fan Dividers - War Of The Words!

Postby Mr Blue Sky » Tue Jun 05, 2007 4:47 am

I've had this idea for a while. We pick an episode known to divide opinions and run a poll to find out how popular/unpopular the episode is.

I've deliberately kept the options down to just two, so we have a definite result, as it were. I did consider just 'Love it' or 'Hate it' as categories but I thought many people wouldn't bother voting if they were forced to give such an extreme opinion. Hopefully these two options will be a bit more appealing.

Anyway, I've chosen an old 'favourite' of mine to discuss - definitely the worst episode in the history of the show, in my humble opinion! I won't rant on in this opening post but I look forward to discussing the ep with people who actually think it's any good.

You'll be amazed to learn I voted "I DON'T like it!"

Well, I wouldn't go as far as to say I like WOTW, but I think there are far, far worse episodes to be found. For that reason, I'm going to be kind to it and go for the first option. I think 'A Day in May', 'The Wizard and Roz', 'Motor Skills', 'Author, Author', 'Rooms with a View', 'Some Assembly Required', 'Door Jam', 'Frasier-Lite' and 'SeaBee Jeebies' are all much worse.

I don't like it. Admittedly not the worst episode ever in my book, but still poor.

Where's the "I think it's horrendously awful and should be removed from the archives and shot into the Sun" option?

I didn't really like it a lot, but I didn't mind it, so I went for "liking it."

I haven't actually seen the whole episode, but I've seen clips on YouTube, and it looks quite funny!

Besides, so far, there are no episodes that I dislike.

Since I don't think it's horrendously awful and the only part I really dislike is the end, I went with I like it.

That being said, it's not an episode I would ever seek out!

You're quite the mathematician ;)

Yes there are indeed 26 eps currently sitting below it - it's a fluid list though.

I don't like it. I didn't like it when I first saw it and I still don't like it now. Crap!

I considered a 5-option poll ranging from 'best episode ever!' to your option above (which I'd certainly have voted for too! ) but I wanted a definite result. So far, the 'Nos' have it! :D

Saladin K. Patterson, whose magnificent profile includes,

Legal Tender Love and Care
The Wizard and Roz
Love Stinks
Tales from the Crypt
Trophy Girlfriend
Analyzed Kiss

It's a shame they weren't snapped up sooner!

(edit: sorry Moon-Crane, didn't realise you'd already answered)

Ah, that explains it then! I remember my heart used to sink when a new episode was airing and his name came up as the writer credit.

Tales from the Crypt isn't a bad episode IMO.

I quite like it too. Definitely his best one. It's not saying much though, unfortunately.
I don't necessarily blame him though, as someone else had to sanction the eps - he just wrote them.

I quite like 'Love Stinks' and 'Tales from the Crypt'

I think Eric Zicklin has an even worse CV personally - 'Motor Skills', 'A Day in May', 'Mary Christmas', 'Room Full of Heroes', 'Frasier Has Spokane' and 'Kissing Cosuin' are all cringeworthy and utterly devoid of any humuor.
