Worst Frasier Episode - Season 1

Postby Paul B » Sun Jun 03, 2007 12:57 pm

I think it's time for a different approach to these polls! Simply select your least favourite episode from season 1. Eventually, after 11 polls are complete, we will pit them all against each other. Not sure exactly what this will achieve, but I thought it would make a fun change.

Each poll will last a week.

My vote goes to the dire Fortysomething. Season 1 took a while to find its feet (even after a magnificent pilot), but this was just the bottom of the barrel. The relationship between Frasier and whatshername was totally unbelievable, and most of the episode was devoid of laughs. Simply terrible.

This was really difficult, I like every episode in S1.

I chose 'I hate Frasier Crane', not because I dislike it but because I like it slightly less than the others, if that makes sense?

Out of all the episodes I've seen so far (S1-6, most of S7, start of S8, S10&11) there are none that I don't like.
I know they're only moments... but that's all life is - just a bunch of moments. Molly, in 'Life Stinks'

Agreed. I just cringed at most of what happened at the wake.

The Crucible without a doubt!

I hate that episode with a passion. Talk about your "out of character" moments!

And it's one of my favorites of S1. The Good Son, Space Quest and The Show Where Lilith Comes Back all run very close to one another in the race for my favorite episode of this season.

Fortysomething. It's pretty good, but still the weakest of what is actually the most consistent season of Frasier in my book!

I voted for My Coffee With Niles

(JOKE JOKE JOKE!!)

I'm with Welshben in voting for The Show Where Lilith Shows Up. I enjoy every other episode from this season apart from this one, which I rarely watch. I'm surprised at the amount of votes Fortysomething gets...I like that one.

I think you're getting Fortysomething mixed up with Death Becomes Him.

I don't recall any wake in Fortysomething. Frasier gets hit on by the 22 year old sales girl who sells him pants. Then he's torn as to whether or not he should actually date her.

Unless I'm just not remembering a wake!

I actually kind of like Fortysomething. Not very fond of Death Becomes Him though.

That's an episode I like quite a lot. I didn't think there were that many out of character moments - the only one I can think of is Niles throwing the brick.

I voted for Death Becomes Him.

And that one moment alone wrecks the whole episode.

To be honest though, I dislike it even before that happens. But that moment sends it toward the bottom the barrel. Not quite AT the bottom but dangerously close!

It was a toss-up between The Crucible, Call Me Irresponsible and Fortysomething. In the end I agreed with CNR and went with The Crucible.

I actually spent an hour at the weekend knocking together a spreadsheet to tally my ratings for all the frasier episodes/seasons. My bottom three for Season One were The Crucible, Call Me Irresponsible, and Death Becomes Him - so The Crucible wins, er, loses.

I went for 'Author Author'. Everytime I watch it I get a headache :?
