How long have you been watching Frasier?

This has more than likely been done before, i don't know as i'm fairly new to this. Just interested to know how long people have been watching and how they came to love the show. Does anyone remember their first episode?

I saw a bit of "To Kill a talking bird" ages ago and enjoyed it, but forgot all about it sadly.

On the 17th of February 2006, I received Frasier S1 and watched my first episode in my mind: The Good Son. I don't include TKATB because I didn't see it all and didn't know it was Frasier: I didn't even know I'd seen it till I'd seen the episode in full. I've watched them all in order, seeing only the following on TV:

Flour Child, having already seen it
A bit of (I think) Freudian Sleep: a weird episode indeed!

Not so much hardcore as old!

But yeah, Goodnight, Seattle was the end of an era. I miss Kelsey being on TV and I'm really glad he's getting a shot at another show.

Anyhoo, I ordered the S1 DVD, without ever having seen an episode, on Christmas Day 2004. I watched the pilot on New Year's Eve 2004 and was caught up to the DVDs by the end of January.

I watched Frasier from the start of its run. I had watched Cheers beforehand - but I started at S4 of Cheers - so a year later than CNR. It's long enough though

I used to watch the odd episode when it originally aired, but never really understood the humour. I became hooked in the summer of 2004. I envy you guys who watched it from the start and had the anticipation of a new ep each week - my experience of Frasier has been a jumble of reruns, DVD releases and reading transcripts.

I think I first saw an episode when I was about 10 or 11, but I didn't start watching regularly until I was 14. I saw some episodes in America when I was about 12 or 13, which got me interested in the show.

How long has that bloody Bill Roach been that Baldwin bloke on Coronation Street!!! I assume he's still in it and will be until the day he dies. Talk about not stretching yourself as an actor

Bill Roach is a Ken Barlow, not Baldwin, he's been there for 47 years since the show started, and I will never feel ashamed to loving life on the Street. It is a British Champion.
It has drama that matches no other, wit and humour that beats many comedies, but it is never over the top just for impact, and has always been true to itself. I trust it to entertain and it has never let me down. I don't think I can say that about any other show in my 35 years.

Oh and by the way, I've been watching Frasier Crane ever since he first appeared on Cheers back in 1985? and continued watching him up until around S7 of Frasier.

The first time I came across Frasier was by chance on TV, and the ep was fortysomething (unfortunate for a first episode). I wasn't particularly interested in it, and didn't think it anything special (how wrong i was!). I then watched another episode (can't actually remember, but it must have been quite a good one) and got hooked. And i have been hooked for a couple of months now, which is really scary that i'm on a Frasier forum after only watching it for 2-3 months. So yeah, that's my story

I believe it was 1996/97 when my parents allowed me to stay up late and they were watching it. I also believe that that episode was Crane vs Crane, I remember the train in the grounds. Niles acting in court at the end credits. Funny thing was, I did not see that episode again until I brought series 3 on DVD three years ago.

If you consider Frasier related first moment: the last episode of Cheers way back, what? 1994?

I should add that in the intervening years, since I got Paramount at any rate I have watched more and more Cheers. I think it got better with every year and Frasier is certainly different in Cheers than "Frasier".
