"A Complicated Song" by Weird Al Yankovic. One of his better parodies, methinks.

Grazin' in the Grass - Friend of Distinction.

Okay, everyone listen to this song. I really like it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpfX10IjOU0

"Sure is mellow grazin' in the grass (grazin' in the grass is a gas, baby, can you dig it?)
What a trip just watchin' as the world goes past (grazin' in the grass is a gas, baby, can you dig it?)
There are so many groovy things to see while grazin' in the grass (grazin' in the grass is a gas, baby, can you dig it?)
Flowers with colours for takin', everything outta sight (grazin' in the grass is a gas, baby, can
you dig it?)

Sun beamin' down between the leaves (grazin' in the grass is a gas, baby, can you dig it?)
And the bir-ir-ir-irds dartin' in and out of the trees (grazin' in the grass is a gas, baby, can
you dig it?)"

Peaceful summer days! That's what it reminds me of. I have Bob Dylan to thank - I first heard this song on that radio programme he's doing, a couple of weeks ago,

It's a nice Motown song. I think they were on the Motown label.

The Shins - Phantom Limb

Excellent song from their latest album, definitely worthy of being the first single. "Pam Berry" is a great lead-in, too.

excellent choice - it's reassuring to know that a simple domestic arguement over your missus' cooking can bring about such a classic psychedelic blues rock song.

Jimi is one of my biggest influences, though I challenge you to find a guitarist he didn't influence.

When I hear that song now all I can think of is polygamy. The new HBO show, Big Love uses it in its opening credits. Great song.

Walk Right Back - The Everly Brothers.

Anyone else heard any Everly Brothers songs? It seems like Phil and Don were at their height in the late 1950s/early 1960s. Most people seem to be familiar with Bye Bye Love, and another one I like is Wake Up Little Susie.

Little fact about Wake Up Little Susie; that was the record that the Bee Gees were going to sing at their first ever performance in late December 1957. They were called The Rattlesnakes at the time. Barry was 11 and Robin and Maurice had just turned 8, and two friends of theirs, Kenny and Paul, were also in the band. They were due to perform at the cinema in the break and mime to the song, but Maurice dropped the record and it broke, so they had to sing for real, and that was how it all started for them.

Yeah, both great tunes. I think I'd go with Red House, though. I learnt to play the blues to that song.
