Favourite recurring character: Crane men's love interests

Postby Paul B » Mon Feb 12, 2007 12:04 am

Who is your favourite recurring love interest whom the Cranes have had over the years? I'm going with Sherry, she brought a wonderful atmosphere to whatever episode she was in, and was a definite part of what made season 4 so great. It's just a shame they wrote her out so soon.

Had to go with Sherry as well. I'm not sure she could have endured for the entire series because I think that character might have gone stale after a while but she was Martin's best fit and she was a fun character.

I hated Mel. She just irritated me and I hated the way she treated Niles.

Lana was grating. Which is a shame because Jean Smart is great actor.

I liked Claire and sort of wish they would have kept her around a bit longer.

I liked Charlotte too. I think Laura Linney and Kelsey worked pretty well together. Interesting to see where that would have gone if they had actually decided to continue with the Frasier character as they had toyed with doing.

Didn't much care for Faye

Regan wasn't in the picture long enough for me to form an opinion.

Ronee was good and I do like the way they worked her into the show. The second time Frasier loses a girl to Martin!
This is the STUPIDEST day I've ever had!

Tough one this as I haven't seen a great deal of the majority of the ladies in question. I will probably go with Sherry but will give it a bit of thought for the moment...

No question - Mel! Her initial role I think was to make the audience root even more for Niles and Daphne to get together, but due to the great writing and skills of the actress (Jane Adams?) she ended up being much more three dimensional. She's a large reason why Season 7 is my favourite, and it's a shame she couldn't stay longer.

Sherry was great too and I wish in some ways she and Martin had ended up together. Ronee's wig distracted me. Didn't like Faye one bit, found her soulless. I liked Lana alot but I think she stayed in one episode too many. Didn't care for the others.

I think Poppy is worth a mention too. :)

Sherry, but I wouldn't have had her last any longer than she did.

Hey hey, good to see you again, Leanne!

Good poll, this.

I voted Sherry. I've said this a few times but I'd have loved to see Sherry brought back for the final season in place of Ronee (who I liked, just not as much as Sherry). Joe Keenan wrote her so well and I'm sure we'd have had a few more riotous moments during the year with her around. Can you imagine the look and Niles and Frasier's faces if Martin introduced Sherry to them again? YAAARRRRGGHH!!!

Shery for me. She was a great example of introducing a character that shook up a show in a positive way.

Similarly to BN, I've always thought Sherry would have made the ideal reintroduction at the end, rather than the 'forced' Ronee (not that I disliked her).

Hey BN! Long time no being inappropriate in the support section. ;)

She would've livened things up, that's for sure! Ronee seemed to just 'be there' rather than add anything and she never made me laugh, unlike Sherry.

Sherry made me laugh, but Frasier and Niles' reaction to Sherry made me laugh more. She was such a great character; she made the whole cast shine!

Ah you're right there - it wasn't Sherry herself so much as the cast's reaction to her which made me laugh.

I only think about your surgical support in nightmares, by the way.

I voted for Sherry - although purely for comedic value. I liked Charlotte and Ronee too, and thought they were fitting partners for Frasier and Martin to end up with when the show finished.

I voted Ronee, she was fun and had some funny lines. Sherry... bugged me, probably because of the 'Three dates and a Breakup' episode. Mel what a bad, bad woman, but I did love how when she went to Frasier's for breakfast, everyone hated her. As for everyone else, they weren't really in it often enough for me to compare, at least in my opinion.
Wow, between school and basketball, when am I...going to be able to watch Frasier!!! Oh, don't worry I'll make time.

I voted for Sherry, as I thought she was a warm, kind-hearted character. I liked the others too, especially Ronee, Charlotte and Lana (Lana mainly because I thought she was really funny.)

Had to go to Charlotte, the one who won Frasier's heart...Claire close second. None too keen on Ronee sadly, but the woman who won Marty's heart can't be that bad.

It had to be Sherry! Ronee a close second, then Charlotte.
