Just because I think you're highly overrated, doesn't mean I can't still like you... or the episode, or whatever... :D

Overrated, me? :o

Never. I'm the one who's the freak with no friends. I think I'm underrated.

Ham Radio will win this but U'm actually not a huge fan of that episode.

My 5:

1: Moondance
2: Goodnight Seattle
3: The Dog Of Death
4: The Impossible Dream
5: An Affair To Forget

Honorable mention to Caught In The Act, A Word To The Wiseguy (oft forgotten), Room Service, The Club, Flour Child and Perspectives On Christmas.

In no particular order...

My Coffee with Niles;
Breaking The Ice;
Dark Victory (a bit overlooked this one? I think it's perfection);
Moondance;
Perspectives on Christmas.

Hmm. Doing a Top 5 isn't pleasant, as it means you have to leave out some truly brilliant episodes.

Heheh. I hope RTD is reading this, that *must* be the name of an episode next year! :)

Alright, how come no one is being more specific about WHY these episodes are their favorites??

Mine are:
1. The Ski Lodge (This is my ALL TIME favorite episode! It makes me laugh over and over again!)
2. High Holidays (I saw it for the first time when I was stoned, so it was even more hysterical-I just loved Freddie going goth, that was a hoot)
3. Halloween (Once more, all time favorite line: "I'm Chinchgook, I'm the last of the Mohicans!")
4. Dial M for Martin (I saw this for the first time the other day, and it was hysterical! I had to watch it again)
5. Something Borrowed Something Blue (parts 1+2) (ive got very fond memories of watching this on TV and being riveted, not knowing if Niles and Daphne would make it-BUT THEY DID!)

:lol: Maybe he could resurrect a rabid K9 for the lead role...

Are you sure that's something you want to admit on a public message board? :wink:

Hey, the first time I ever saw 2001: A Space Odyssey I was under the influence of both weed and booze. What a show.

Try watching Donnie Darko drunk - most aspects of it appear quite normal. :)

My top five in no particular order are:

1) Retirement is Murder
2) The Innkeepers
3) The Matchmaker
4) The Impossible Dream (Check out Frasier's reaction when Gil says, "I've come to tempt you!")
5) Bee Gees Fan

There were so many that only just missed the cut but you have to be ruthless in this business. I would have loved to have found places for "Dial M", "Moon Dance", "Halloween", "Perspectives on Christmas", "The Ski Lodge", "Roz and the Schnoz", "Out With Dad" among others. BTW - Good idea Cakey!

I think Sideshow Cecil got Frasier and The Simpsons mixed up, there is actually an episode of The Simpsons called "The Dog of Death", where Santa's little helper falls ill and the family has to pay lots of money to help it recover. It was on TV yesterday I think.

Indeed I did (with a screen name that covers both programmes - and advancing senility - are you suprised?)

The Dr Who episode that was never written........

I owe everyone an enormous apology! I have been away and unable to use the Internet for the past ten days, and was hugely worried that this thread would have disappeared and the idea forgotten. I'm so pleased that people have remained interest and that this thread has remained popular. I assure you that I'll be starting new nomination polls every two days from now on.

You don't need to apologise, Ben. :) We have you to thank for starting this off. It's nice to see you back. :)

I think Ben (and Benjamin) are lovely names. The name Benjamin always reminds me of Benjamin from the Bible - the youngest son of Jacob, the little brother of Joseph. In fact, although Joseph is the most prominent of the twelve brothers, Benjamin has always been my favourite. Like little Andy Gibb, he was the baby of a large family.

And I think the name Benedict is nice too.
