I take it that "choons" is a slang word for tunes.

This local story news story made me chuckle. A bunch of wind turbine protesters, who claim the area in which the turbines are to be built doesn't generate enough wind, had their protesting gear blown away by the high winds. Now that's an example of irony, Alanis.

Not to be difficult but they could still be right as what this kind of turbine needs is a constant reliable wind and not strong gusts of wind with a mediocre energetic efficiency followed by long periods of becalmed turbine with zero efficiency. That's the same kind of misunderstanding that we get from people who think that Global Warming is contradicted by occasional local dramatic drops in temperature.

You're right about that, of course. :)

But from that point of view I'd be inclined take the information from the engineers, who'll be giving the farmer the hard data about whether it's worth his while constructing it on his land to power his farm and local housing, over people who are trying to think of any reason for the thing not to be there simply because they don't like it. I'd expect the engineers have used mathematics and interpreted actual gathered local data to work things out. The figures must add up, as it's a steep initial outlay for the farmer and experts to simply guess about.

Outside of all that it's just a funny story. The last thing you want from a PR point of view is for your stuff to be blown away in an area you're promoting as not windy enough
