Yes, I was really into the genealogy thing for a while! It's all been made easy for me on one branch, though, as my G,G,G Grandfather was a Tolpuddle Martyr, and the research around their family trees has been completed by professionals.

Have you traced yours? Did you find anything exciting?

Well, a lot of travelling uncovered a Baltic connection; more immediate research led to a Surrey based link to an old Norman family. That's enough to be getting along with, I guess.

Being related to a TM is pretty cool, though..

That's interesting! It seems that most of my family have lived in Dorset and Hampshire for ever and ever, so no exciting Baltic connects for me. :(

It's a nice link to have - most people have no idea who I'm talking about if I mention them, though.

Boxfiles. I know that's extremely boring, but if I organise my paperwork, maybe it will help me to organise my brain.

A book contract.

Heh.

I saw a contest last week for a $15, 000 book contract, but I just didn't have anything that met the requirements of a 60, 000 word minimum or 150, 000 maximum. My first book is a monster of 243, 000 words, and the one I'm almost finished editing the third draft of will probably clock in at around 190, 000-185, 000.

Oh well. I'm planning to expand a 14, 000 word short story after I'm finished that third draft, and I'm thinking around 60, 000 would be perfect for it, so there's always next year.

A laserpod - wow, Keren would love it! She adores lava lamps, fibre-optic lights, etc.

Argh just found lots of awesome and rare robin hood stuff ( the Disney film!) the seller says she will accept all offers as she is moving soon... But that involves a lot of money! Or I could come have a look pick what I want and take it away... But she lives inWales!! Really want the stuff! Especially the giant robin hood cuddly but no way I can get most of it, especially the 115 odd books... :( damn. Damn. Damn. On the upside I'm getting some robin hood film cells, and I've finally found what appears to be my life long aspy "thing" disneys robin hood stuff!

 As a collector, it is a total pain in the arse when you see nothing good for ages, then all of a sudden the market just seems to be flooded by good quality rare stuff you'd love to own, and you've got to try and stretch your cash for it.

I've been it that position many times, and I sympathise with you.

I feel your pain, IA! Collectibles that I want always seem to come up at times when I have no money. I still have my eye on those two giant Playmobil figures in Eastbourne, but I reckon they're going to sell for hundreds!

:D

I bought a great Marvel superheroes shirt the other day. It's a gray striped one with pictures of Captain America, Spiderman, Thor, and the Hulk on it. It is quite amazing.

What about herringbone flat caps for cats? That was another one. And they'd look so suave

Bought them. Didn't plan ahead. How the f*** am I going to collect them from Eastbourne? Even for an experienced driver it would be a very long day trip! Trying to find a courier.
