Twin Peaks ''Episode Eight''

I won't try to describe the plot as it is far too complex, but I will say that Mark Frost, the co-creator, did an amazing job. Each seperate story thread was left unresolved in an exiting way. I can't wait to see season 2.

Frasier - Head Game.

Hadn't watched this episode in a while so thought I'd watch it. I love it and I always have even though it isn't a classic for me.

Roseanne

"Sweet Dreams" - Episode 8 from Season Two.

Almost the entire episode was a dream that Roseanne had, so it was quite surreal, but good fun. She murdered her husband, Dan, and her kids Becky, Darlene and DJ, and then her trial took place in a courtroom...everyone ended up singing why they love Roseanne.

I watched this Porsche driving challenge thing on Eurosport but not properly. The last thing I watched properly was Room 101 last night with the late, great Linda Smith as the guest as part of the tribute to her, preceding which was HIGNFY where she was constantly mocking Neil Kinnock. Wonderful comedienne, can't belive she's no longer with us

Totally agree with you Meg re Linda Smith. A very funny and astute lady who is sorely missed. Apart from her all too infrequent TV appearances she was outstanding on The News Quiz on Radio 4. She had a razor sharp mind and could turn the most mundane subjects into a great source of hilarity. It's hard to believe that she is gone.

Frasier S1 - all outstanding.
Seinfeld S4 - also brilliant.
Tales Of The Unexpected S1 - never seen them before, but my Mum ordered the S1 set from play.com, and despite it having dated somewhat it's still clever and entertaining

Golden Girls (Season 2 DVD) - "Big Daddy's little Lady".
I am a huge fan of the Golden Girls after purchasing the DVD's and I have watched seasons 1-4 twice through. The reason I decided to watch this episode is mainly because of the song Dorothy and Rose create. It is really catchy and I just love the way Sophia bops her head to the music. The main storyline isn't that great though with Blanche's father returning with a younger girlfriend who he is planning to marry. Big Daddy wants Blanche's blessing but she doesn't like the fact he's getting married again. A very good episode overall.

Before that That 70's Show Series 1

I'm eyeing the HMV offer of Cheers series 2. I wish Married With Children was on DVD and for that matter Frasier S5

only then, will the circle be complete.

I watched Best of Top Gear/Petrolheads last night, oh and Mayo. I don't know what people think of it. I thought it was alright, but trying to be like Jonathan Creek which is infinitely better IMO.

Yeah, it did actually. The first couple were a tad shaky but then the guest got quite good, like John Gordon Sinclair (Who I *love*, especially since I saw him in The Producers last week), James May (My second favourite TG presneter) and James Martin (Chef) but Fearne Cotton was there yesterday and seemed uninterested.

Plus, I like Richard Hammond (Can you tell?) and Chris Barrie is brilliant as well so watching them every week is pretty good.

Yep, that is a good episode. I haven't seen that many episodes but from the ones I've seen my favourites have been The Killing's at Badger's Drift, The Ghosts of Christmas Past, Death's Shadow and Death and Dreams.

The Simpsons ''Bart Has Two Mommies''

Here's a review I posted at the No Homers Club forum

I loved this episode. The Monkey kidnap B story was kind of weak and slow, but it tied in well with the strong, well paced, character building A story. I feel it ended brilliantly. The reuniting of mother and son was really touching, and the fact that Ned didn't go completely ape, pun intended, over Todd saying he was gay hit home that he was learning to let go.

As well as a strong story, this episode featured some killer gags. The Welcome To The Jungle parody was inspired, as was Homer's ''show'', the See What You'd Look Like In Hell mirror and the Flanders to English dictionary. There were also a lot of strong throw away gags such as when Homer drew ''he wants it'' eyebrows on the rubber ducky, ''the ring God gave Saturn'', and the nimrod/nimtodd line. The Ned Zeppelin Abrased and Contused line was clever, if a bit odd. Also, props to the writers for steering clear of a past its used-by-date King Kong parody.

The only things I didn't like were the Left Handers Convention and the gratuitous pain gags, the mill scene in particular.

The show has been quite good lately. Here's hoping Ricky Gervais' episode, Homer, This Is Your Wife, doesn't disappoint.
