Mayday Malone wrote:No, indeed. It's meant to be the first direct sequel to the previous film. Kind of like what Diamonds Are Forever should have been to On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

The pre-title sequence did kind of follow on from OHMSS though didn't it, with him trying to find Blofeld. It obviously wasn't a pure revenge flick, though.
Is anyone else quite enjoying these Coke adverts which incorporate the QOS theme? I'm really looking forward to the film now. I'll be there come Halloween...

I'm not keen on Craig at the moment but I need to see QOS either way

I did buy the Ultimate Edition set (Dr No-DAD) and add to that with CR in 2007...though if OHMSS has extras I might bother...though that DVD's cover-work looks like they've taken a Dalton shot from Living Daylights and added Lazenby's head.

Wow they've blended Casino Royale seamlessly into the collection.
What great timing to release yet another box set design when a new one will have to accommodate Quantum Of Solace in a few months.
A screenplay for a James Bond film that was never made has been sold at auction in London for £46,850.
The script for Warhead, written by Sir Sean Connery, author Len Deighton and producer Kevin McClory, had been expected to fetch no more than £3,000.
In the 1976 script, Bond battles robot sharks attempting to plant a nuclear bomb in sewers underneath New York.
Legal battles stopped the film being made. Sir Sean eventually played 007 again in 1983's Never Say Never Again.
The lot, part of Christie's Pop Culture: Entertainment Memorabilia auction, also included a photo of Connery, McClory and Deighton working on the script in Ireland.
Photographs
If made, the film would have featured such familiar Bond characters as Ernst Stavros Blofeld, Felix Leiter, Moneypenny, M and Q.
It would also have seen James Bond encounter beauties like Justine Lovesit and Fatima Blush - a character who eventually appeared in Never Say Never Again.
Other items in the sale included a fur-trimmed stole worn by Hollywood star Marilyn Monroe which sold for £42,050.
A collection of vintage photographs of the actress Marlene Dietrich also went for £27,361.
"Numerous lots far exceeded pre-sale expectations, demonstrating the continued appeal and durability of the pop culture market," said Christie's Katherine Williams.
Mayday Malone wrote:I forget the exact story but McClory had something to do with it mainly on account of Thunderball originally going to be the first film. According to one book I had, Deighton and Connery worked on something called "James Bond of the Secret Service" or some such. McClory, who died last year, was by all accounts a bitter man who wouldn't let go of his rights to Bond. Acclaimed rights anyway.
I remember hearing about Warhead but had no idea it involved robot sharks.
