I'm shocked at the results of this poll. When I started it, I was convinced S4 would be a dead cert.

I just think S3 has tons more standout classic episodes though.

I actually think the exact opposite, but would say S3 is more consistently good. S4 has 3 or 4 eps I really don't care for, but a whole bunch of all-time classics.

Funnily enough, I think S4 is the more consistent. S3 has eps like 'The Friend', 'It's Hard to Say Goodbye...', 'Cranve vs Crane', 'Police Story' and 'Frasier Loves Roz', which I don't care for. But with eps like 'Shrink Rap', 'Martin Does It His Way', 'Kisses Sweeter than Wine', 'Frasier Grinch', 'Moondance', 'Chess Pains', 'High Crane Drifter' and 'Look Before You Leap', I can forgive the clunkers. :)

Good point actually, I'd forgotten about some of those S3 eps when I said it was more consistent. The best of S4 definitely beats the best of S3 for me. Dad Loves Sherry, Three Dates and a Breakup, The Two Mrs Cranes, Mixed Doubles. Daphne Hates Sherry...the list is endless.

You missed my favourite S3 ep off your list - Come Lie With Me. How do you rate that?

It's a good episode, although not a favourite or anything. The stuff with Frasier and Martin is hilarious, but I don't care for the stuff with Daphne/Frasier/Joe for some reason.

Of the seasons I've seen so far, yes. However, I haven't seen 6, 7, 8, 10 or 11 in their entirety yet but from what I hear none of them are of the same quality as the first 5 years.

I'd be surprised if you prefer any, but you never know :).

Six has a number of very decent episodes - but for overall quality it has to be one of the first four years, imho..

For me it's a tie between Season 4 and 6.

Both had some of the most memorable episodes

Thankyou
I think they truly are. All the seasons have memorable and fan favorite episodes but both 4 and 6 seem to have the most with at least 5-6 favorite episodes.

A year ago I would have said No as series 5 was always my fave - but they have be re-running series on Paramount and it's changed my mind. Series 4 has better episodes overall
If less is more then think how much more more would be

Ooh, a poll I haven't voted in! Thank you whoever dragged this up from lower down the page. :)

I voted 'yes' - it's the best season IMHO.

I voted yes!

I'd started watching repeats on Channel 4 in the mornings (they still do this which is great!) I was actually watching episodes from season 5,6 and 7 at the time.

I realised I really enjoyed it and wanted to buy some, so I took a chance and went for season 4 (although I hadn't seen any episodes). Yet now it's my favourite, because it has particularly:

Are You Being Served?
Ham Radiio
Head Game
Mixed Doubles
Daphne Hates Sherry

Season 5 or 6 is my next favourite (can't decide which)

Those are my two favourites of that season.

 :!:

Mixed Doubles [Niles drops the coffee cup]
(Frasier) "Anne of Cleeves?"
(Niles) "Catherine of Aragon!"

I love how DHP delivers that line, really pronouncing the "Aragon"

Ham Radio
(Gil) "Never again to revisit the scene of my boyhood in Surrey... Romping with my schoolchums in the thins and spinneys..."

I loved how Gil had to say that so many times, and the way he says it, just makes it so funny each time. Particularly how he emphasises "romping" :!:

Those are my other two favourite parts of those two shows!

I agree, the way DHP says 'Aragon' is great...I crack up every time.

I like how Frasier finally kills off the last member of 'Gil's' family...wasn't it the ice cream truck that killed him?

No, the ice-cream man was the friend of Nigel Fairservice and his brother Cedric. All of them were shot!

I think these were the best Gil moments in the entire series.

Season 4 was the first season I bought, so there's a bit of nostalgia for me.

I would still say Season 3 is better though, I like season 1 as well.

My order would be
3, 1, 4, 5, 2, 7, 6, 11, 8, 9, 10
The world is a mess, and I just need to rule it.

I don't remember seasons 10 and 11 that well, have only seen most episodes once.

As for season 8, there are still some good episodes - my particular favourite being Hooping Cranes.

There are some good episodes in S8 but they are few and far between. 8 and 10 are pretty interchangable in the bad list as far as I'm concerned.
