Let's get the ball rolling...

Murray faces Santoro at Wimbledon
Wimbledon: Monday 23 June to Sunday 6 July
Coverage: BBC TV, BBCi, Radio 5 Live and the BBC Sport website.

British number one Andy Murray will meet veteran Frenchman Fabrice Santoro in the first round at Wimbledon.

Murray, the 12th seed, is in the same half of the draw as world number two Rafael Nadal.

Top seed Roger Federer, seeking a sixth straight title, cannot meet Nadal until the final but could face world number three Novak Djokovic in the last four.

Federer begins his title defence against Dominik Hrbaty, while Nadal faces qualifier Andreas Beck.

Australian Open champion Djokovic is up against Germany's Michael Berrer.

Two-times finalist Andy Roddick, who begins his campaign against Eduardo Schwank, is a potential semi-final opponent for Nadal.

The Spaniard, fresh from winning his first grass-court title at Queen's, has a potentially difficult second-round match against either rising Latvian star Ernests Gulbis or big-serving American John Isner.

In the women's draw, Venus Williams will open the defence of her title against British wildcard Naomi Cavaday .

World number one Ana Ivanovic begins her bid to win back-to-back Grand Slams against Paraguay's Rossana de los Rios.

Former champion Maria Sharapova , who is in the same half of the draw as Venus and second seed Jelena Jankovic, meets French qualifier Stephanie Foretz.

Murray has faced 35-year-old Santoro once before, winning 6-4- 6-2 at the indoor Paris Masters last year.

The British number one said: "Fabrice is one of my favourite players in the world. I love watching him play.

"He uses both hands to play his forehands and backhands and comes up with some very unorthodox shots."

Santoro, a doubles expert, has never got beyond the third round at Wimbledon in singles but his unconventional style has caused several top players problems in the past.

In an interesting twist, Santoro will come up against Murray's older brother Jamie in the first round of the men's doubles.

Should Andy get the better of the wily Santoro, former semi-finalist Xavier Malisse could be waiting in the second round.

The Belgian has been handed a wildcard this year after struggling with injuries.

After that, Richard Gasquet is a potential fourth-round opponent with Nadal possibly waiting in the last eight.

Murray is joined by three other British players in the men's draw.

.

Eaton overjoyed to reach 'ultimate goal'

British number four Alex Bogdanovic will meet Italy's Simone Bolelli while fellow wildcard Jamie Baker is up against another Italian, Stefano Galvani.

Surrey's Chris Eaton , who caused a shock by coming through qualifying, has been rewarded with a first-round match against Serbia's Boris Pashanski.

As for the British women, 19-year-old Cavaday could hardly have been handed a more difficult draw than Williams.

At 199, she is ranked 192 places below the American, who is a four-times champion at Wimbledon.

British number one Anne Keothavong , the only Briton apart from Murray to have gained acceptance into the main draw by right, meets unseeded American Vania King.

Elsewhere in the women's draw, Serena Williams , winner in 2002 and 2003, has drawn Estonian Kaia Kanepi and could meet 2006 champion Amelie Mauresmo in the third round.

Oh now i can't wait till monday ......... i wonder how well Mr Murrey is going to do after he hurt his thunb at Queen's , he has a tendency to carry over his injury's and in my opinion is just still not quite the finished article think he will make last 8. As for a male winner i can't steer myself from the top 3 Nadal , Federer and Djockovic .

For the women there's hardly any one to get excited about yeah who we have may survive a few rounds but i cant see a winner in Anne Keothavong who usualy put'ss up a resonable acount of herself but nothing more . I see a williams sister in the final [ u can never ever rule them two out ] and possibly Anna Invanovich the serbian who is pretty decent .

For the women, I don't think it should go to the Williams sisters. I think someone else should have a chance now.

As for the men, Federer definitely.

Federer did just win in Halle a warm up tournament while not losing a single set so i'd say he''s a pretty good choice .

I think Roddick's hopes are in the dust now. He was good for a while, but I don't think his chances are as strong currently.

I hope Nadal can win what with his recent surge in form. The final's probably him and Federer...maybe Djokovic can sneak into it somehow.

As for the women, I'd like Mauresmo or Sharapova but both seem iffy.

I'll try to soak these two weeks up, which might be a fatal word considering last year's record rainfall.

Definitely looking forward to it this year cos after years after constantly saying "I really should make the effort" and never seeming to get round to it, I put in for the ballot, as did my mum, and she got offered a pair of tickets for Mens semi-final day - and thankfully gave the other ticket to me!

Just have to hope the weather holds out!

Less then 24hrs now to go. From what I know the weather's going to be fine. Windy but hopefully, dry.

A few home boys and girls playing. Baker, Murray, South, O'Brien etc.

With coverage having started and good weather (I swear if it doesn't rain in this tournament, it's not Wimbledon) I'll put a prediction or hope down...

Nadal for the mens (Nadal v Federer or even Nadal Djokovic)

Sharapova for the womens (I was going to say Mauresmo but I'm not sure if she's playing this year)

Oh it's all to start soon , we start with the obiglitory chit chat mostly with MacEnroe [ Henman is there but seem's to of lost his tounge ] ...... even though Federer can win his sixth trophy in a row he's been toted as 3 rd favorite behind Nadal and Djokovich ....

Underestimating Federer might be dangerous...but I hope Nadal does win.

No sooner had I made the previous post...MacEnroe swears...alright it was 'bastard'...but Sue Barker sort of started as if shot..."Oh!"

Have they come up with a daft new name related to Andy Murray to replace Henman Hill and Rusedski Ridge

Not sure who i'd like to see win the Men's. Be nice to see a change from Federer, but i'm not a massive Nadal fan. Two other top ten players competing in the final would be good, i think.

I wouldn't mind if Murray actually won it, just to see a hopeful end to the same media articles and discussion year after year. I'd rather see him win one of the other grand slams, to be honest. It'd be even more of a feat in my eyes.

I remember the columns of outrage being spouted when Andre Agassi was first due to start playing at Wimbledon - because he always wore flourescent coloured outfits; luminous lycra legging bits beneath denim-type shorts, multi-coloured bandana, etc. I seem to recall he arrived in a completely white outfit - not one tiny bit of colour on shirt, shoes, anywhere
