Hmmm, I wonder how many more film references there are like that, that go unnoticed by people who haven't seen whichever film it happens to come from? I imagine there are quite a few, especially as some of the episode titles are word play on film names.

The pool is somewhat important but after thinking about it a good deal yesterday, I think the shorter drive and convenience trumps the pool.
The place by work gave me two free passes and I think I'm going to go check it out tonight after work.

It's probably attracted some for the store owner - she gave you a free gift which will encourage you to go back to the store in the future. Whether that was her intention or not, I don't know.
I don't think that's the reason. It's clear that the people who work there really believe in this kind of stuff. And I have read about stones and crystals having power and energy. Crystals can help heal, for instance.
And I have found proof that Positive Thinking works. I have a book which outlined a way to go about it, and I was feeling down about something, and the book said that if I kept a consistent positive thought for just 68 seconds every few hours, I would start to notice experiences in my life corresponding with the positive thought.
So I tried it - I kept up a consistent positive though - and that very night, I had a positive experience that corresponded with that thought!
Dorset Girl wrote:Do you mean that if you think about something in a positive way for long enough, you can make it happen? Because that, I'm sorry, I don't believe.
Basically, yes. If you wanted to get some more money, for instance, if you thought long and hard, "I am earning more money" or "More money is coming to me" or "I have a new job with better wages", then eventually, more money would come into your experience.

My mum and stepdad are into that sort of thing. I gave this positive thinking thing a go, but felt ridiculous doing it. Sorry to say it, but I think it's nonsense. If something good happens to uccur, it's just a coincidence. It's got nothing to do with the positive thinking.
