What was the OOC moment? I haven't seen that episode in a while.

I just watched it a few days ago and I don't know what the OOC moment is.

I imagine BN is referring to when Martin uses all the psychiatric talk.. "long-repressed Oedipal nerve", "sublimating passive-agressively"..

I went for 'The Friend', which is just quite dull.

I love all of the Kate Costas episodes. It's a shame they make her such a tit at the very end of IHTSGIYWL, but up 'til then, I think that episode's top.

That's it exactly, yes. I may have mentioned it a few times before...

I don't think that's OOC at all. It's Martin being a smart ass which VERY, VERY Martin!

The man was married to a shrink for 35 years. Some of the terminology was bound to rub off on him sooner or later. :)

That would be very convincing, if he didn't forget all those terms in later episodes! There's tonnes of examples of the Crane boys discussing things that go way over Marty's head - if he'd really taken everything in he wouldn't look blank when those subjects are brought up!

Nah, it was a piss-weak joke that didn't fit his character at all. He's more of a 'down-to-earth' smart-ass!

Off-topic I know, but that reminds me of what my friends and I used to say about Star Trek Voyager - they used what we called 'technobabble' all the time - e.g. the following conversation:

Kim: We're stuck!
Janeway: [uncomprehendingly] Stuck?
Kim: Er, we're mired in a gravitational eddy.
[Janeway nods to show she has understood.]

Doe she not understand the word 'stuck' or something?!

Ha, that's funny! Was it intentionally written like that do you think, as an in-joke on all the bollocks terminology they use?

I don't know, but anyone who thinks we are obsessed with Frasier should check out some of the Star Trek forums! And no, don't worry, I don't belong to any of them!

I can well imagine. I never post on the Doctor Who one I'm a member of - there's just far too many freaks and geeks squabling amongst each other for my liking. I suspect those communities are pretty similar.

Freaks and geeks are great! I'm both! :)

I know, but freaks and geeks arguing about the minutia of Star Trek or Doctor Who can be kind of annoying. But many people may think that's what we do on our very own Doctor Who thread, so what the hell!

The man at Paramount 2 probably thinks everyone who posts regularly on this forum is a freak or a geek!

And you've got the highest post count - you're the biggest geek of all of us! :D With me being second.

I'm quite sad 'The Friend' got the vote this season - I think it's a tad underrated. I can feel a 'fan dividers' poll coming on! I must be in the minority liking this ep.
