A sure sign of the apololypse!

Proper grammar going by the wayside! The end is nigh!

Their explanation is interesting but seriously, it kind of bugs me to see the use of proper grammar going away for "convenience" purposes!

What concerns me more than the apostrophe... the DVDs behind the sign are priced at £2.99 - how much do the shop actually pay for them then?! Not more than a quid, I'd imagine.

Hehe, what's most amusing about that is that I can just make out the name 'CLARKSON' on the DVD behind the sign - a perennial bargain bin favourite! :D

So Niles and I are not the only ones who correct grammar on toilet walls!

I just love the way that at least three different people have added their own comments.

There was a duplicate copy of the notice on the wall outside, that had loads more comments on it, but I was afraid to take a photo in case I got weird looks. Not that it usually stops me - I've just joined the 'extreme lying down' group, so weird looks are gonna be the norm.

I saw a guy with a tattoo today that read "What doesn't kill me make's me stronger", not only does he have a cliche on his arm, but it's incorrectly punctuated too, it was so hard not to laugh

Apparently 'parties' doesn't need one. There must be a different rule for 'ie' words.

Hehe, that's great. It almost looks wrong that they neglected to put Special Rate's and Discount's as well.

It does still slightly wind me up when I see signs like that. The few signwriters I've met (my mum and dad owned a business and used to hire them occasionally) were as thick as fuck, yet some people (i.e. my wife) look at a sign like that and see it as some kind of gold standard of the English language. I say "Oh look, they've put an extra apostrophe in there" and she'll say "Oh sure, so they're wrong and you're right..."

Or maybe she actually says "Oh sure, so there wrong and your right!"

Hehe, I should be a comedian. *Wipes tears of laughter from eyes*

I'm sure she spells it like that in her head.

I had an embarrassing moment yesterday when I (mildly) chided my daughter for spelling 'watch' as W-H-A-T-C-H as she said "but mummy told me it was spelt like that!"

What hope is there.
