Vowels are worth 70p, consonants are worth 50p.

MC - or anyone else - do you have any puzzles to post?

Cheers for that.

Sorry, haven't got anything worth using at the moment.

Quite an easy one this: What do the following words all have in common??

Banana
Dresser
Grammar
Potato
Revive
Uneven
Assess

(and it's not that they all contain at least two of the same letters)
I've got a fake laugh with your name written all over it.

Oh - palindromes. The last parts of the words are palindromic.

The words are palindromic if the first letter of each is removed.

They are though, aren't they? So is there something else as well?

There's an extra bit to make them truly palindromic (and proper words).

Put the first letter at the end, so that they're backwards?

The shortest English word from which these three words can be produced: AM, FAR and MAR ... is FARM.

What is the shortest English word from which the four words below can be produced?

BRIDAL PEDANTIC CAPTURED LARCENY

Yep, that's it, well done MC!

I thought it was time to revive this thread. Do you have a puzzle to post, MC? If not, I have a few more.

Don't think this one is on here. Might get solved in seconds!

Which of the 8 shapes is next in the sequence and why?

I think it's no. 2 - the shapes are mirrored numbers. 9 is next in the sequence.

I remember doing an IQ test with tons of these types of puzzles in them. Four puzzles on a page, only two minutes to complete each page. Nightmare! More luck than a measure of IQ, I reckon.
