Who bites their nails?

Okay, it's a bit trivial, but I was sitting here at the computer, biting my nails, when I wondered how many other people on FO, if any, also have this habit.

So - who bites their nails?

I must admit, I bite mine a lot. Sometimes, I'll bite one nail persistently to the point where it starts to feel sore. I also chew on the skin sometimes as well.

So how many nervous nailbiters have we got?

I bite my nails, but only to trim them. I also bite my toenails! Sometimes I chew the nails for a while.

I bet a lot of people secretly bite their toenails.

Who's going to admit it?

I must admit, I'm a bit embarrassed to say it, but I do pick at my toenails sometimes. I can't actually get my toes into my mouth. I've never cut my toenails in my life - they just get very long, and then one evening, I'll just start pulling at them and pull bits off.

This is a horrible confession - I am a clarinnetist and a pianist, but i do bite a lot. In fact, my hands are disgusting under the circumstances.

Not only is it dirty (people biting their toenails! :shock:

) and disgusting looking, it's also bad for your teeth.

I meant it looks disgusting (ie. tattered looking nails). But come to think of it, eating your own toenails, considering you sweat an egg cups worth of perspiration through your feet per day, is disgusting.

I don't eat my toenails. Fingernails, yes.

I think I used to eat my toenails when I was a young, young kid.

I don't bite my nails, never really had any desire too.

Biting your toenails does seem a bit grim though and I can't even get my foot anywhere near my mouth.

Yes, I think so, I'm sure my Mum keeps one in her Handbag and also doesn't one star in the opening credits of the UK comedy "Are you being served" :lol:
