Quiz

Postby Bee Gees Fan » Mon Dec 18, 2006 11:43 pm

Only just managed to get on! Sorry about not being here at the time you asked, Frasier.

Anyway, I've been thinking - it's going to be impossible for everyone to be here at one particular time, so why don't we let each quiz run for several days, instead of having it for one night? Then everyone else would be able to come along and take part, if they want to.

Okay - so:

General Knowledge

(I think most of these are pretty easy - post answers in the thread, by the way)

1: What is the name of the first female Prime Minister?

2: In what year was Adolph Hitler born?

3: Which country won the last World Cup (for football?)

4: What was the name of the person who discovered America and which year did he discover it in? (Two points for this question.)

5: What are the names of the Beatles? (surnames as well)

6: What is the name of the person who has just won The X Factor?

7: Another X Factor-related question - what are the names of the three judges on the X-Factor? (surnames as well)

8: What are the names of the three cartoon Chipmunks and what is the name of the man who looks after them? (two points for this one)

9: In how many days is God said to have created the world?

10: Name two of my favourite groups.

I'll post the answers on Thursday - and I was thinking we could start the next one then.

You can answer all of them, if you like.

I trust no one to cheat and sneak a peek at anyone else's answers.

Oh I see. So each question can be answered many times?

You're very trusting, I give you that :)

1. Margaret Thatcher
2. 1889.
3. Italy.
4. Well, technically, America has been discovered for thousands of years by the American Indians, but the answer I think you are looking for is Christopher Columbus in 1492.
5. John Lennon, Paul McCartny, George Harrison and Ringo Starr (Richard Starkey).
6. Some woman.
7. Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh.
8. Chip, Dale. Dave is the person who looks after them.
9. 6.
10. The Bee Gees and the Beatles.
My God, woman, I'd drive a stake through your heart, but I don't think anything could kill you.

3) Can't remember... sorry I'm useless
4) Christopher Columbus (or is it a trick question?)
5) John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison
6) Leona (don't know her surname)
7) Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne
8) No idea
9) Six (and rested on the seventh)

Great question by the way, a real nice mixed bag! Don't think I did very well though!

I've just thought, to avoid any cheating, people could PM you their answers.

Question 4: Christopher Columbus, and he reached America in 1492

Question 5: John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr (although his real name is Richard Starkey.)

Cakey, I understand your concerns about cheating, but if no one minds, could people post their answers in the thread? I don't want to seem like I'm suspicious of all of you.

I'll start the Sports one in a few days.
