Fan Dividers - "Deathtrap"!

Well, following two 'victories' on the bounce I'm on to a certain loser here with my appreciation of the much-maligned Deathtrap.

I think this is a fun episode that briefly re-united the Frasier/Niles dynamic during the lean period of seasons 8-10, when it was much needed.

Many people cite the fact that the 'tell' is revealed to the audience in the very first scene thus 'ruining the mystery' element. All I'd say to that is this is a sitcom, not Murder, She Wrote (thank goodness!) and the situation is played for laughs as the audience gets to watch Frasier and Niles literally digging themselves in deeper and deeper.

There's plenty of other reasons to enjoy this ep too, but the clinching argument perhaps is that it was penned by the best season 8-10 writer by a country mile - Jon Sherman (he of Bla-Z-Boy and Fathers and Sons amongst others).

I voted...I like it! :D

I like 'Deathtrap' a lot. It's good fun and a rare Kelsey-DHP centred episode from the later years.

I didn't read it! But now that I have...

Murder, She Wrote isn't that bad! Would you like me to send old Mrs Fletcher herself over to see you to put up a defence?

Nope. Don't like it. Yet another one of those episodes where my heart sank when I first saw it. Which season is it from? The fact I can't remember probably speaks volumes! :P

Season 9 - it immediately follows 'War of the Words'.

Season 9. It's surrounded by shite so came as a welcome bit of light relief for me!

I don't like it. One of S9's weakest.

Definitely a "NOT" like it from me!

I can't even begin to buy the entire premise of the show so I find it tedious and ridiculous. (and not funny ridiculous either, just ridiculous)

Not lovin' this episode - sorry!

I've seen it twice and each time it has been parked firmly at the back of the part of my brain dedicated to 'Frasier'. Whenever I see it advertised, it's one (of a tiny handful) that I don't mind missing.

Could you choose another episode for us to vote on?!

Jolly good! I'm staggered the "I Like it" camp appears to have a decisive 9-7 lead, I felt sure there were only about 4 people on here that liked it! Glad to have smoked out a few more fans of this lovely, fun episode!

Nice to see you here again btw, Bambi/Corevelay/Frasier Rocks! All in all you must have over 1000 posts here now in your various guises. Do you keep forgetting your password?
