Battle of the Seasons - Episode 8

Postby Cake for Brains » Wed Apr 11, 2007 1:01 pm

I have to confess that I'm pretty happy with the way these polls seem to be going, so I thought I'd go on right ahead and start off the next one. I think we got 16 votes for one of them - which is a personal record for me!

You know the drill by now - vote for your favourite 8th episode from the eleven seasons.

The poll will remain open for a week.

Happy voting!

I like most of these episodes, but The Seal who Came to Dinner wins it for me. The selections from season 2-4 are also spectacular.

The Last Time I Saw Maris, followed by Adventures In Paradise pt1. Most of the remained are pretty average.

Fairly dull batch here, with only 2 good episodes. In the end I voted for The Last Time I Saw Maris, an underrated S3 classic. Adventures in Paradise would have been my second choice.

I expect Rooms with a View will win, but IMO that's a dreadful episode.

Had to go with The Seal Who Came to Dinner.

I like Adventures in Paradise Part II better than Part I. I also like The Last Time I Saw Maris and Murder Most Maris but The Seal is my fav S6 episode and of this batch, definately my fav.
This is the STUPIDEST day I've ever had!

Our Father, Whose Art Ain't Heaven. Love the ending of that episode, when everyone ends up in tears.

''Rooms With A View,'' a remarkable episode worthy of my vote.

I like The Last Time I Saw Maris, The Seal Who Came To Dinner and Rooms With A View of the choices.

The Last Time I Saw Maris just about wins it, i think.

Yep, I think it's a love/hate kind of an episode. I just thought it failed on all levels - and didn't deliver the drama or the comedy.

This is a better poll; the results are varied and widespread.

I found this a really tough choice between AIP, TLTISM, OFWAAH, DSC and RWAV. I eventually went for Our Father... - KG's favourite ever episode!

Really?!? That's cool. Yeah, I went for that one too, but I had no idea it was Kelsey's favourite! Like I said earlier, the scene where they all end up crying near the end is just great! :D Nice elements of drama and bonding in that one too.

Surpirisingly, I didn't like it that much the first time I saw it, but I loved it on my second viewing! Same with Give him the Chair.

I was the opposite. I thought it was great on first watch, but now I see it as one of the weakest episodes of Season 4. I would, personally, have found it more rewarding if Martin gave Frasier the badge.

I liked that he didn't - it made it particularly funny for me. And it offered a great opportunity for Martin to give Frasier the badge at a later date, as some grand gesture. Oh well.

Also for me it has to be Our Father... for two reasons: The brilliantly clever title, and the ending...Nobody wants to come to my party!"

'Last Time I Saw Maris'. Beautifully touching yet laugh-out-loud episode, that one!
