Season 6 - Rate it!

Postby me123 » Sat Dec 30, 2006 10:32 pm

I just ordered Season 6 from the US, and it probably won't come in for a while and, until then, I'm stuck with Friends season 1 (Which, it turns out, I've seen before without realising it), and I'm relishing more Frasier.

So, I'm wondering how people on this forum would rate season 6 just to keep me going.

The poll will only run for a fortnight, BTW.

PS, since I haven't (knowingly) seen any episodes yet, I obviously won't be voting.

You're in for a treat with Season 6! There are a few episodes early on that aren't too good, but the second half is pretty much fantastic throughout. Episodes to look out for include 'Dial M for Martin', 'Dinner Party' and 'Shutout in Seattle'.

I think I'd rate it as an 8

Incidentially here's how I'd rate all the season's - which might help you get it into context:

Season 1 - 8/10
Season 2 - 8.5/10
Season 3 - 9/10
Season 4 - 10/10
Season 5 - 9/10
Season 6 - 8/10
Season 7 - 7/10
Season 8 - 5/10
Season 9 - 5/10
Season 10 - 5.5/10
Season 11 - 7.5/10

Thanks CfB, I know many people on this forum say that at about seasons 4-6 it reaches it's peak before a sudden demise to the "depths" of season 8  (sorry for the slight sarcastic tone here) then it climbs to a glorious conclusion at the final season.

Yeah, I'd give S6 8/10 too. There are more good episodes than duff ones, which is perhaps the last time I thought that about the show until S11.

I've only seen the second half of season 6 so far, but I've enjoyed every episode and had a laugh out loud moment in each one. I don't think I could rate it though until I've seen the first half.

I gave it a generous 9/10, simply because it's the DVD I re-visit the most. Granted there are some poor eps in there but the classics really ARE classics. I love the 'feel' to that season too which is very difficult to quantify in terms of a score out of ten...

Ooh, hey big spender! I was toying with giving it a 9 but I think I'm still subconsciously remembering the olden days of the forum, when if you admitted to liking S6 you were ridiculed!

Aah, how lovely to finally see it getting the recognition it deserves, even if it is about 9 years too late!

I guess this poll will become quite popular again in may next year when it gets released on R2. I'm not sure if it was S7 or S6 when I started watching Frasier many years ago on Channel 4 at 10:00pm, as I wasn't really bothered too much about how many years it had been running. So I might have seen a couple of episodes from the season, but it's been so long that I've forgotten what the episodes were like and whether or not they were from S6 in the first place! Can't wait for May! Will vote on here then. Good to know that May's worth looking forward to though, so thanks for the votes everyone!

9/10.. close to 10/10 - almost as good as S1-5 IMO. Maybe I'm being a bit generous, but it's really great.

Well, I'm proud to say that I never ridiculed anybody.

You do all remember that Frasier's Curse is not a real episode, don't you? Remember I drew your attention to that back in August 2005?
