Would you have Bebe as your agent?

Postby Bee Gees Fan » Wed Dec 13, 2006 1:02 am

If you were in the entertainment business, would you have Bebe as your agent?

Despite the privileges, I went with "No." She's just not really that nice of a person.

My first thought is no, but then, I've changed to yes. I'm just /so/ bad at talking to people I could probably never get through a career myself. I spent years growing up before I actualy had the confidence to call up my best friend and ask her to stay over by myself!

So, maybe ;)

Of course I would - she's amoral, b####y, bossy, persuasive, everything you want in an agent. (Unlike the boy scout in Zoo Story :) )

Yeah you need someone like Bebe and the companies probably have their own representatives who would be just as amoral!

Oh, I liked Ben! Okay, he wasn't a very good agent, but he was a realy nice guy.

She'd get you the perks you wanted. If you say that's not attractive to you (especially when the perks could mean a difference between a paycheck of $500,000 and $600,000) then you're probably lying. :D

The perks most definitely are attractive to me. But I like to think that I'd resist the temptation.

We all would. But we'd like to think we'd resist it given the people we currently are. If we made it to the top of the celebrity world in a given profession, we'd probably want to do almost anything to stay there. Look at Sylvester Stallone as an example of someone desperate to get his status back!

I voted 'yes'. It's dog-eat-dog in any form of "show biz", and with Bebe as your angent, there'd be some quiet puppy pounds on the block.

I don't think all of show business is dog-eat-dog, but I believe it certainly is if you want to be one of the few who gets to the top. I'm not convinced it's always based on talent when people get to the top. Paris Hilton, don't even ask, you know exactly who I mean!

I suppose that's a reference to the new Rocky film? I've never actually seen any of them...I hear the first ones are supposed to be good, though.

However, I shouldn't think that Sylvester's agent would stoop to the kind of things that Bebe does. I mean, she murdered that poor crane (and we're also led to believe that she may have been responsible for the death of a person.) Maybe that's partly why she's so funny. In some ways, she's a stereotypical hard agent, but it's taken to the extreme with Bebe. I doubt anyone's agent would stoop so low as to actually commit murder.

I mean, Bebe's not just an agent - she's evil.

As a character though she was absolutely brilliant!

Although we did see her human, vulnerable side when Frasier slept with her and then rejected her the next day. She looked genuienly hurt and made me feel sorry for her.

Oh, I agree, I love her character! :D

That's a good point, Nervosa. You're right, she did seem upset then.

Unlike Frasier, I have no desire for an ethical agent. As long as she performs well as my agent, its her own funeral how she behaves. Increadibly selfish, I know, nevertheless, there is some correlation between competance and morality. Especially on Frasier.

So I voted Yes.

Bebe is so deliciously devilish and phoney. I love watching her on
Frasier (I love it when she says, "LUV YA" and "WINK") but would
hate being around her in "real life."

She's a good actress

I'd hire Bebe in a minute. She's slick as snot, she knows how to negotiate and she got Frasier a 20% pay increase!
This is the STUPIDEST day I've ever had!

Yes I would definatley. Shes a tough one but thats what you look for in agents. She got Frasier weeks of vacations and nice raises, I know this may sound bad but I wouldnt look for human compassion in an agent but I would look for how good they are.

Maybe...she might actually get my novel published.

Could have sworn i'd voted on this. BN's Mad cow is definitely spreading. I say yes anyway, seeing as you need an agent to get the best for you in an industry that takes no prisoners.

Everyone liked Ben (except maybe "The Hammer") but he's certainly not a good agent.

Oh I'd absolutely have her as my agent.

Even as a person I think she's a riot. Granted some things I would rather not know and I would not have her as a 'friend' per say but an intriguing aquaintance nontheless.
