New Smilies

Postby Stu » Sat Jun 09, 2007 4:49 pm

I think someone mentioned about the rather limited selection of smilies on a recent thread, so I've been looking for some additional ones, which have been added and can be found if you click the "View more emoticons" link.

They all came in one pack, and there are quite a few which is why you have to maximize the screen to see them all - I'm wondering whether there's now too many  as it takes a while for them all to load.

There's some fun, interesting ones among them like these:

:violent1: :angel4: :love3:

and erm, these  :

:3some: :sex:

Let me know your thoughts

Personally I really don't like animated smilies. Too busy on the eyes. I'm sure I'm in the minority though!

I don't mid if they're used relatively sparingly (he says, hypocritically...) and at least we don't have to suffer a full page of them when making a post. Somewhere else I'm a member of is much less kind to the eyes.

I'm with you. Still, I imagine a lot of them won't get much use outside one certain thread.. :)

I do prefer the new :) and :D

We've always had :D in the 'more emoticons' section (I think it was MRGREEN or something), it's just been moved to the front selection.

I have to agree actually - although there are some fun new additions I have to say.

Erm, not to be a killjoy or anything, but there is a passage in the Forum Rules and Regs about not having animated sigs/avatars.

So yeah, if you could. :)

Okay, Kermit is now gone.

Does anyone bother to read those? I never have.

Maybe I could start a campaign to get that rule overturned, though! Can I do that?

In the meantime, I shall put Kermit in my signature on some other forums I post on. And I'll use him as often as I can...

To be fair, even if you don't read the rules, animated things on a page catch your eye and get annoying. I doubt you'll get it overturned BGF, thankfully. A still image of the kermit face would be fine :)

We're not allowed images in signatures.

Maybe I could get that rule overturned! Who supports me?

I've been on the 'other' forum, and it looks more like Las Vegas, than a forum. You spend more time wondering if the pictures are part of the thread or just irrlevant, and most of the time it's the later.
Sorry, that's a no from me?
