RIP. A great, iconic Prime Minister, and ironically a better 'American' than many Americans.

She aided Pinochet and Pol Pot to regain and consolidate their respective positions as dictators and is indirectly responsible for millions of deaths.

That's some idol you got there!

What's next, a thread to celebrate Führer day?

Patrice! Long time no-hear you jealous socialist! Speaking of that, how are things in good ole France? Come to grips with that 40 hour work week yet? Or, more likely, you're unemployed so it doesn't really matter.

My name is Patrick, you fascist prick!

I don't even understand what a xenophobic piece of crap like you is doing on a site that's not white American protestant male membership only or what you can possibly find to interest you in a show like Frasier that's diametrically opposed to what your kind believes. It has to be made possible by that psychotic rift that allows you to live with yourself. That's the only explanation.

BTW, you'd better hurry, or you'll be late for that cross burning meeting of yours.

His name is still Patrick, I believe :D

Yes, still working fine here in Europe, thanks. Nope, still not unemployed either, sorry :)

I know your name is Patrick. But like Bulldog says, "like it even matters". And furthermore, how is my disdain of so much of French behavior xenophobic but your obvious disdain of the U.S. not xenophobia? And furthermore, how is the show Frasier 'diametrically opposed to what (my) kind believes'? What does 'my kind' believe? That is, beyond believing that you fulfill the stereotype of a jealous, anti-American, effete French Euro snit? And furthermore, ' ...that psychotic rift that allows (me) to live with (myself)', well, that is just touching. Now, in view of your unfounded, inaccurate charges that I am psychotic, that I burn crosses in a racist ritual, and that I am a protestant (not to mention the xenophobia and fascism), how is my view of you not accurate?

I've visited a few American Repub/conservo sites. Slander and malign is a way of life for them, they don't even try to argue the point. They'll call you a homosexual-unemployed-commie-terrorist-Muslim as a way of introduction before they even address specifically the content of your post.

That's why I find it so surprising that mister initials even comes to a site like that. He must think it's a show about Hitler and Eva Braun in their bunker or something.

Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! My introduction to you was in a forum bashing the United States. That is the point. BTW, you haven't answered my question. You are the one 'slandering and maligning' with your 'fascist', 'cross burning', 'Hitler' etc etc insults. Typical, though, isn't it. Liberals are just about the most non-tolerant bunch out there.

How fitting that you would justify your behavior by using a quote from bulldog, a character that treats women like crap, is a proven coward and liar and by his own admission has no sense of decency.

Maybe you think that the show is built around him and that would explain your persistent offending presence on this board.

The fact that you are not bothered by Thatcher's shady dealings with the likes of Pinochet and Pol Pot is proof enough of the type of people you belong with. Your attacks on me on the other hand are absolutely baseless and typical of your kind as I have some experience of the types of fora where your ilk likes to gather and exchange "ideas". You make unfounded assumptions about people's statuses and wealth as a matter of course. You are nothing more than a cliché. I could quote dozens of posts from repub/consevos sites that you could have copied and pasted and claimed as your own without arousing suspicion.

In fact you could let one of your partners in crime from there take over and we wouldn't notice any difference. You are little more than a (self) glorified robot. You are like the marching beavers of the Riverside High School Band in Mary Christmas, you march in perfect rhythm.

" persistent offending presence on this board". Matter of opinion isn't it? Most in this forum probably agree with you, but they are for the most part a bunch of socialist libs just like yourself. Again the pot calling the kettle black.

I don't really listen to lies, distortions, half-truths, propaganda, or the like. But of course I know who Pinochet and Pol Pot are. Just curious, what do you all think of Che Guevara? How about Stalin? Castro? Hugo Chavez? By the way, it sounds like you are anti white male. Its probably ironic given that you are probably a white male. But not surprising given the upside down, inside out logic that passes for liberal thought. True to that bumper sticker I enjoy: A liberal is someone who is so broadminded they can't even take their own side in a fight.

Quit behaving like a little intolerant, jealous snit and maybe people won't call you Patrice. I'm sure you thought you were in safe environs with your anti U.S crap. I'm not letting you get away with it.

So you call yourself "people" now? It must be that split personality disorder of yours. You're the only one here who's ever called me "patrice", idiot! Now go argue with a copy of yourself in one of these echo chambers you call conservative fora.

So now I have a 'split personality disorder'? And am an 'idiot'? Will these outlandish, even childish, accusations ever cease? I'm calling you 'Patrice' for a reason, and you know what that reason is.

 She was a very polorising person.

Some folks think that she was the best thing to happen to the country, but the fact that "Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead" from The Wizard Of Oz is a dead cert to be a top 10 hit in the Enlgish singles chart this week (and no, i'm not joking) shows a lot of people don't like her.

The thing I find distasteful is the bandwagon jumpers.
The vids of 18 year old idiots getting pissed and chanting "Maggie Maggie Maggie, Dead Dead Dead!".

Maggie Thatcher came into office in 1979 (when I was 3) and was booted out in 1990 (when I was 14).
For most of her years in office, my prime concers were not the unions, immigration, the strength of the £, The Falkland Islands.
My prime concerns were getting in a few hours play with my Action Man, watching cartoons, and the odd game offground tick.

I've done little to educate myself since that time in 1980's polotics.
There are many more fun and interesting things to do in the world :D

I'm not educated enough in the subject of 1980's British politics to have a strong opinion, so I don't pretend to have one.

It's surprising to me that there are so many proffessors of political science that are so much younger than me.
Because why would you get drunk and celebrate the death of someone you knew bugger all about?
Oh, yes, novelty factor

MT screwed a lot of people over in her time.
I've got no problem with those who have a genuine grievance against MT showing their emotions in any way they want.
A pal of mine, Marco, survived Hilsborough. He quite rightly resents the police cover up of the events of that day, and blames Thatcher for her involvement.

She was very harsh to the north of England.
People of my dad's generation will know how harsh, and their opinion of her will be shaped by it.
Me? I was busy watching The Real Ghostbusters.

I think the yobos who are out drinking and chanting, hateing for fun rather than for any reason, rob something from those who have a genuine reason not to like her and feel satisfaction at her death.

So next Wednesday i'll be neither glued to the telly watching her funeral with a box of paper tissues, or in London on the route of the funeral with a box of eggs hidden on my person, i'll be in Manchester at a Meat Loaf concert.

That works for me :D

Only somebody not affected by her policy would call her a great Prime Minister. But then i'm from the North and saw first-hand the hypocritical stance taken against manufacturers in this country. She destroyed so much, and people seem to think it's pretty ok that we're now in no position to be self-sufficient in this country in so many important areas.

Looks like i'm only a couple of years older than FJ, but it seems to have been enough to make a difference in understanding what she did to areas of the country for which she simply didn't give a shit.

Talk about a waste of money being spent on her funeral. As it became a state-funded circus, people had every right to protest her. I've got sympathy for her daughter but the arms-dealing, privileged dropkick of a son can eat shit as far as i'm concerned. Fuck him - and chuck him back in jail.

The hypocrisy of a number of people spouting about her became staggering. The whole event ended up turning Thatcher into a Jade Goody for the Eton Crowd.
