So, who's hoping for a Cowboys defeat to kick off the season tonight? :D

 I hate both teams but I think I hate the Boys just a bit more!

I won't be able to watch the game though. It's on the NFL Network and Time Warner Cable doesn't carry it. Been a big dispute for years (TW wants it to be a pay channel and NFL Network wants it to be free) and I just wish they would reach some agreement and get it on their lineup.

It'll be on Sky Sports over here, so i won't be watching it legally if i do look to tune in.

We get a sunday game on free to air with Channel 4 each week, and i believe that's due to be Steelers @ Broncos to kick off the season.

I bet Ben's all ready for tonight's game, though :D

Benny's probably all revved up in his Giant gear!

Packers start the season against the Niners on Sunday. Should be a good game. The Niners are pretty decent.

 Ready to kick some Cowgirl ass! Packers against the Niners will be an awesome game I reckon. Don't know who to support in that game (sorry Cat) as both teams are kind of my 3rd favourite Franchises. It'll be interesting to see how Peyton Manning fares in his first 'proper' game for his new team against that Steeler D. But a lot of that D is getting old.

Yay! The game is actually an NBC game so I can watch it. At least until I have to switch the channel to watch Bill Clinton's speech at the Convention.

I'm rooting for the Giants Ben. You have to root for the Packers!

I haven't seen the game yet, I recorded it. But if Eli didn't look good it's my fault! I have him in my fantasy team.

Keep seeing adverts for this! Wanna watch but mcdreamy only has F1 not sports channels, and appearently grid girls beat cheerleaders so I have to miss it, as I have no one close enough to steal their tv! I'm rooting for packers though!

Channel 4 show a game every sunday night if you were just wanting to check a game out. Usually a midnight-1am start.

Not being near London I've no idea, I know there are iPhone apps for finding sports bars in London etc though, if my fish like memory doesn't fail me I'll have a look!

A bunch of unusual results to kick of the opening gameweek. I'm not particularly confident of our chances this year (as ever), but i hope we can do San Diego this evening.

Missed this earlier. There are a few around that'll likely be showing NFL.

Off the top of my head - in the West End there's the Sports Cafe not far from Trafalgar Square, and a place called Bodean's in Soho. Possibly the Texas Embassy Cantina near Trafalgar Square, too.

Thanks MC.

Since my friend didn't actually break up with her boyfriend as planned we won't be staying in London proper (we're going to be in St. Albans at his house) but we plan on spending a good deal of time in London itself. I'd like to be able to catch at least one of the 2 Packer games I'll be missing. (of course if they keep playing like they did this past week, I might not want to watch them).

My mate lives in St Albans. It's quaint, yet overcrowded. St Albans is an olde worlde Roman market town so you'll not likely find anywhere around there. At least you can have a drink in the alleged oldest pub in Britain while you're staying there. "Ye Olde Fighting Cocks" by the edge of Verulamium Park.

It's a short train ride into London St Pancreas from St Albans anyway, so you'll definitely be spending your days in the City.

Yeah I didn't expect to find anywhere in St. Albans. When I originally asked the question, we were going to be staying in a hotel in London. But my friend has decided that she will give the boyfriend until the end of the year to shape up! (mostly because she has plane tickets bought through Christmas and doesn't want to eat that money!) lol

Definitely have heard about Ye Olde Fighting Cocks. A friend of mine who was there last September was just too excited to post about it on FB! (she's a little on the juvenile side).
