Postby Dorset Girl » Tue Sep 13, 2011 11:09 am

.... for passing your driving test! I thought it deserved a thread of its own. :hello1:

That's pretty much impossible, there are too many of them! I've noticed that quite a lot of things seem to be 'optional' to many drivers - including stopping at zebra crossings, even if someone is stepping on to it, indicating, sticking to speed limits, not overtaking when there are double white lines, sticking to the correct lanes at roundabouts, keeping junctions clear for traffic to turn....

Thanks so much everyone, can drive BF's car as of tomorrow so quite excited about that now! We're going home tomorrow so I'll get to get used to driving on my own on some roads I'm more familiar with than here. Someone asked me if I was going to be the one driving home from Northampton, don't see that happening for quite a while yet, I'll just put that down as a goal for the future

Agreed, indicating is one that really pisses me off, how difficult is it to push a little switch up or down? It doesn't take much effort yet some just don't bother at all! The junctions thing is annoying too, they park on both sides of the junction in our street, I remember once it was a job to get the car in between them. One idiot today was parked literally just before a roundabout that I was going left on so you had to go around it and then quickly steer into the corner so you were in the right lane, it was ridiculous!

I can get into that.

Well done indeed. Come pick me up, and don't let the fact that I'm on a different continent stop you.
