As a non-whisky-connoisseur I really like it. I have no idea whether it has character or not, I just love the taste! I bought hubby a bottle of the Madeira-casked Penderyn and a bottle of the sherrywood for his birthday, just before we split up. Thankfully he left them in the cupboard when he moved out.
