How many?

Heh.

I try to keep it limited to however much can fill a bathtub, but that's just because I'm a teetotaler.

Had 3 glasses of what appeared to be quite strong Pinot Grigio with dinner - was one of the nicest I've had in a while, still, feel a bit half cut now - either that or I'm just a complete lightweight

Jameson is not Scotch, it's Irish Whiskey so it is meant to taste different from Scotch. It is distilled to be smoother and is matured in American oak barrels and so has a vanilla flavour that is quite rarely found in Scotch whiskies. I prefer Scotch myself, especially Islay malts as they tend to be more characterful, denser, more peaty and smoky. I can see the appeal of the mellower whiskies, like Jameson though, especially to people are new to the drink.

I have had Penderyn a few times, particularly if I've been out in Welsh pubs, in some of them it's the only non-blended whisky they have. Having said that I'm not a big fan. I don't think it has much character at all, I find it quite difficult to pick out any distinctive, appealing flavour.

As a non-whisky-connoisseur  I really like it. I have no idea whether it has character or not, I just love the taste! I bought hubby a bottle of the Madeira-casked Penderyn and a bottle of the sherrywood for his birthday, just before we split up. Thankfully he left them in the cupboard when he moved out. :D

It looks like you definitely got the better end of that bargain!

I have only tasted the standard Penderyn, not the madeira or sherry casked stuff. I'm a fan of variant casked Scotch though so I would probably enjoy it. Bowmore do a good range of whiskies that are casked in Sherry, Port and Claret barrels. Standard Macallan is casked in Sherry barrels. Balvenie do a Sherry finish and a Port finish. Glenmorangie probably have the widest range covering Claret, Burgundy, Rum, Sherry, Madeira, Port, Quinta de Ruban and Sauternes casked whiskies. My favourite whisky of all is Lagavulin and their double matured Distiller's Edition has its second maturation in Pedro Ximenez Sherry casks - it is absolutely fantastic stuff.

LOVE me some Jameson. I actually have a bottle of it in my cigar locker at the cigar store.

I dislike Scotch but good Irish Whisky is yummy!

Just had two measly ('measley'?) 500ml bottles of Stowford Press and feel really pissed. This is my first alcohol for five months, plus I'm very tired, and with those two things combined my alcohol tolerance is zero. Just came very close to saying something to my boss I would most definitely have regretted. Partly due to the alcohol, but also due to the fact that I find it far too easy to talk candidly to him online.

Oh my God, I was crazily pissed last night! I had a long, nonsensical conversation with Mayday, I remember that much.

I'm now paying for it with a massive headache, serves me right. However, all that vodka appears to have taken away my chest infection so it served a purpose!

 Got a wee bit pickled last night.
Jo and I have some friends who are over from New Zealand (they're ex pats) so we went for a drink with them and my parents last night.

I must have been drunk because (after getting home, picking up Scoobie, walking him to the burger bar, going home, eating our food) I had this convo with Jo.........

Me - It's alright for you, i've still got to walk Scoobie.
Jo - You've just been out with him.
Me - No I haven't.
Jo - You have.
Me - Where to?
Jo - The burger bar.
Me - oh, yeah

Needless to say, Scoobie had to make do with the walk to the burger bar as his last walk last night
