Secret Millionaire! Oh yes someone mentioned that earlier.

The tiny error is that of course they are not secret.

This is vanity on stilts, they way they live in a grubby flat, it probably costs more to make the programme than they donate.

The 'rich prat' waved off from his 'mansion' (tabloid speak for a four bedroom house) (more than four bedrooms is an estate) (the word estate used by tabloids must confuse the chavs who live on the other type of estate)

Yes that programme pisses me off, especially at the end when they turn up in their not from the row suit and tell the people, how fucking patronsing is that.
Sack the Englsih football team. Anyone involved with the team in SA should never go near the FA again........except the man, or woman it could have been a lady who drove the bus.

Ah well, might have to nab the DVDs instead.

Either way, great move!

The S1 DVD is going particularly cheap at the moment, I've just picked it up myself.

Geldof, Bono and Sting indeed! Is that the best you can do??

:?:

Huh?

As I said, I don't buy the tabloids, but if you want to enlighten me to other sanctimoniuos celebrities, then please do so. I assumed these 3 tended to get the most column inches? But then again, I'm normally behind the Times??

I was lying awake for bloody ages last night trying to think of a couple of celebs, mainly because I couldn't remember their names off-hand, they mean that much to me! I'll offer the following two for starters, though:

Geri Halliwell - celebrity on the wane, became a UN Ambassador giving lectures on women's health issues(!)
Robbie Williams - out of the public eye for a while, did some work for Comic Relief

Did you ever watch Extras?? There was an excellent episode with Chris Martin from Coldplay, where he is filming a charity appeal with Gervais' character and is using every possible means to plug the band's latest album! If comedy sketches are being written around this theme, clearly I'm not alone in my perception.

I don't know about you Rodge, but I enjoyed the verbal intercourse last night - it brought a bit of colour to my cheeks! Feel free to bring on the next topic for discussion. And I sincerely hope it's not anything we agree on - I need something juicy to get my claws/teeth into.

After working yet another Anime convention this past weekend, I was reminded of how much I hate teenagers.

'Delivery slots' that are from 8am until 5pm, and after waiting in for them all day, they wait until the last possible moment to actually arrive. Where's my sofa? :x

So you have a go at me for coming up quickly with 3 obvious names, and yet it takes you all night to come up with your three, who, apart from Geri have done a minor amount compared to the 3 charity gods that I have mentioned??
What exactly was your point?

The first anime film I saw was called... um, now I've started typing, I realise I can't spell it! Er, 'Urotsikodoji', I think. I was about thirteen at the time and it freaked me out. MC will probably come along and correct my spelling now.

I don't recall having a go at you at all for "your" three, although charity gods is a bit strong. Yes, they do a lot of good work but "gods"?? Even you have to admit that that sounds like something you'd read on a red-top??

Seeing as you mentioned it - Urotsukidoji ;) Good effort though :D - Not my type of anime, to be honest. Seemed to be pretty popular in its time.

One of the points I made yesterday was that non/minor celebs are as much capable of jumping on the "charity" bandwagon as major ones, particularly when their career is in a nose-dive just to resurrect their public profile. The fact I struggled to think of their names proves how minor they are; they mean that little to me.

Me too, it's downright inconsiderate, bloody ISPs! And what Cat said, I understand that too.

Yeah, I get the same feelings of annoyance in my business when breweries change their ABV along with the NaD and OG and on top of that the EAN number changes without any warning. Until eventually Tesco refuse the delivery
