That also made me smile as did getting asked for my number on the way to the pub. I was shocked and said are you sure you mean me. He did. I wonder if he will text.
1. Values - I.e What are the things that define us as a department? (perhaps we should also add, what are the values that should define us?!)
2. What do you feel we cannot compromise on?
3. If we could win any award (real or imaginary), what would you like it to be?
4. If the University were to publish an article about us, what would you like it to say?
Here are my thoughts, hope they're useful.
1.Values – I.e What are the things that define us as a department? (perhaps we should also add, what are the values that should define us?!)
a) Eccentricity
b) Joie de vivre
c) Warped senses of humour
2. What do you feel we cannot compromise on?
a) Purple hair
b) Facebook usage during office hours
c) Drunken Christmas parties
3. If we could win any award (real or imaginary), what would you like it to be?
I personally would like to win the ‘Foot in Mouth’ award, for the person who says the most wrong things at the wrong time.
For the Department as a whole, the award for ‘Most Eclectic Bunch of People who Have Ever Managed to Work Together Without Killing One Another’ would probably be appropriate.
4. If the University were to publish an article about us, what would you like it to say?
To paraphrase Homer Simpson: “They tried their best and they failed miserably. The lesson is 'never try'.”

My manager replied to thank me for responding so promptly, but unfortunately he didn't feel able to submit my ideas to the Senior Management Team.

Not really a big follower of cycling, but it's always nice to see UK teams doing well in sports, so amazing to see Team Sky provide a Tour de France 1-2, with Wiggins becoming it's first Brit winner. Those guys controlled this year's Tour from start to finish. Well done to Froome for the support and accepting a 2nd place when he was just as capable of winning. Cavendish also weighed in with a bunch of stage victories to add to his overall total. Sky have put together a tough, professional team.
