Same here :) Last day of work today. Actually it was only half a day and then we had a nice Christmas party :)

Ditto, also! I'm currently in Year 12 Sixth Form and we finished today for 2 weeks! Having said that, I've got AS modular exams in January for Politics and Geography, so I'll be spending a lot of time revising :(

*stands up and takes deep breath*
My name's Agides and I'm a first-time poster on this thread.

Not had much to smile about recently, but today brought two things:
a) Making a colleague cry with my gift-wrapping of a small Xmas present I gave her by way of a thank you for being so supportive this year.
(The only fly in the ointment is that the wrapping does not reflect the gift inside and she's going to find it a major disappointment by comparison.)

b) My Secret Santa present - incredibly personal, highly appropriate and wonderfully thoughtful and really made me feel like I've been accepted into my new team at work.
I've got a fake laugh with your name written all over it.

Nice. I did Edexcel, but aside from splitting the AS into three modules they look pretty similar. Unit 1 there sounds particularly good to me. Good luck!

Won't bother quoting!

Unfortunately, due to "lack of interest", my school is only running the course for AS level. Which is a shame as in A2 we'd do about US politics and the differences to the UK.

I assume you meant they're only doing it for AS level? In which case, that's quite a shame. Politics was my favourite A-level.

Yeah, that's what I meant! It is a shame as I'm really enjoying the subject. Speaking of which, time to go and get on with some revision!

(My "prize" is the Jerry Seinfeld Stand Up bonus feature on the S6 DVD in an hour ;) )

I take it that doesn't happen very often? Make the most of it and run around naked, or something!

A couple of things have made me smile today! One of them is that one of my friends, who has been in an unhappy, violent relationship with a man for years, has told everyone that she's ended it. She's also told all her family and friends that she's gay, and that she's had a girlfriend for a while now.

It's just really nice to see her smiling and happy, and she seems healthier too. It must have taken some courage for her to tell people about her girlfriend, particularly as her dad's quite old-fashioned and I imagine he didn't take it too well.
