Maybe because Star Trek is consistently average twaddle while The Simpsons is one of the best comedies of all time? :)

Can we not have comments about the original list rather than my humble opinion??? :?

Star Trek is a cult show yes, and can be entertaining, but I wouldn't rate it as "quality" it's closer to a sci-fi soap opera. The Simpsons however is one of the greatest shows of all time.

IMHO, Star Trek and The Simpsons are both classics in their own way. The Simpsons is underrated by some people because it's a cartoon and therefore not seen as well written or 'for grown-ups' but in my opinion it's actually well written, funny and clever!

Star Trek has a huge cult following, and for that reason I think that perhaps it's overrated in some ways. Not many fans can see its faults.

Personally, if it's classic Trek they're talking about, I'd rate The Simpsons above it - but that's just MHO. :)

Wow, I haven't seen pretty much all of those shows. Haha. I mean 101 shows and only watch like 4 of them regularly. I have only seen, maybe 10 other shows on that list on occasion. The rest, not a clue in the world.
Wow, between school and basketball, when am I...going to be able to watch Frasier!!! Oh, don't worry I'll make time.

get used to that, sister.

Twin Peaks edging Trek by one place.

You can't really eyeroll Trek and then smile at Simpsons saying that they're different shows. Different kinds of shit even. "...from a different point of view"...Obi-Wan Kenobi might've said.

I looked at it yesterday. The list. Curious list, what with The Prisoner being topped by Father Ted, Twin Peaks etc...then Python over Morecambe & Wise.

As the great Bernard Black once said: "It's a world gone topsy-turvy!"

The Twilight Zone is way too low. I can accept that these nerds would completely omit a classic like Auf Wiedersehen Pet, while including such average fare as Rome... but the whole list is rendered null and void by the lack of the multi award-winning Northern Exposure.

Hearty congrats on the quote, Wes! :D

I remember the buzz of seeing a letter of mine printed in 4-4-2 magazine! My other 'claims to fame' have been getting a letter shown on C4 Teletext's old music page about 16 years ago, having a cricket question posted on BBC Sport's website (and answered by Bob Willis, no less! ) and appearing on the local news between tha ages of 11 and 16 everytime they did a feature on Bradford Grammar School, for some reason. Must have been my telegenic looks and natural charm.
