Yeah, he used to dress like this in the early days.

Ha! I know how they could solve the clothing problem - naked Wimbledon!

And that's my entire contribution to this thread.

I'll follow it, and watch the highlights probably, but I'm not interested enough to sit and watch it all in full.

I've missed a bit of it already but good to see our girl Baltacha through. She has some Chinese girl, Zheng next. Unsurprising to see Federer through...bit like Lance Armstrong in the prologue of the Tour.

In his early years, Andre Agassi could have worn any damn thing he wanted and it would have been just fine with me!

And I like DG's idea of Naked Wimbeldon! :D

:D A fan of that hairy chest were you ;)

He was my favourite player. Breath of fresh air - and one of the few to win all the grand slams - so that shut up the people who complained about him being style over substance.

Actually, it was the long hair. :D

He was a rebel and a damn fine tennis player as well!

I've never been a huge tennis fan but Andre was fun to watch. And it was nice to see someone who didn't go all crazy and act like an ass when things didn't go his way. (Do you hear me John McEnroe?)

Bjorn Borg was another one who always kept his cool on court.

Cat, do you remember Vitas Gerulaitis? He used to be friendly with McEnroe, Connors and Borg. He died at the age of 40 from carbon monoxide poisoning.

His name always sounded like a disease to me.

Doctor: You have Vitas Gerulaitis! Take two of these and call me in the morning.

Hewitt made it through but made a bit of a meal with it against Haasel. Hassle...something like that...Dutch...Hewitt the last man to win Wimbledon before the Federer Empire.

Murray tomorrow weather-willing.

Can't wait to see Murray tomorow poor lad has the media practically up his ass already interesting to see how he goes ...

Talking of Agassi earlier i remember he was the player that got me into watching tennis in the first place , i was at a polo yard and saw all the very posh lot huddled round a tv so i was invited in to watch what turned out to be Agassi's first wimbledon win can't remember who he was even playing but it was exciting stuff.

Just watching this match at the mo. :)

EDIT: The tie-break was cracking.

EDIT AGAIN: I'm watching this game and keeping an eye on the Nalbandian match online (he's currently getting slaughtered by an unseeded player).

I love Wimbledon. :D

South has lost, maybe no surprise against Bondarenko but most respectable a game. What a game. Epic...1hr 57mins, but epic in all departments.

Yes, he did which is sad. We have Murray and a qualifier, Eaton left from what I can see of the first round.

Yikes that's a bit piss poor we are going to be putting all our expectations on Murray who really need's to concentrate on his tennis not fending off journalists and such ...............

that really is bad going for the first day how come we are not producing quality tennis players like country's such as Serbia for instance who have two top players [ no offence to anyone form serbia ]

since the end of the Cold War in 1991 there's been an explosion of Eastern Europeans in all sports...cycling...football...tennis...we can't compete against that explosion.

Then we have a serious problem wether it's getting enough young interest in any sport over here or enough decent coaches or we are going to be losing out to these country's for year's to come .......... every wimbledon i watch i hear about the new batch of player 's who will be a threat to the big guns's but it's always ones for the future and they never seem to materialise , very sad indeed .
