He played like this all through last year, though, until he met Nadal in the Final. Murray has a good record against him - if he can get past Roddick, even though Federer would, quite rightly, be the favourite by far.

Roddick has claimed the first set, but Murray has come out all guns blazing and broken Roddick's serve in the first game.

Fuckin' NBC isn't showing this match live in the US! They showed the Federer/Haas match live but not this one!

Just nuts.

You're missing a great game; Roddick's just gone 2 sets to 1 up after a thrilling tie-break.

We didn't get the Federer vs Haas match over here. The coverage started at Roddick vs Murray.

Strange how the match wouldn't be shown live in America though.

...And Roddick just claimed the third set.

Murray looks to be clutching his knee, this might have some validity if he hadn't been doing for the last two years for no particular reason.

Hey Cat if you want to follow the score, the Wimbledon website has a live scorecard. Obviously not as good as watching it, but still not bad.

Just saw some highlights of the Fed Haas match, Federer looked to be in great touch. If he wins Wimbledon he regains his number one ranking, which I'd like to see.

Looks like Hewitt might shoot up to the top fifty rankings again, and might get seeded for the US Open.

Heh, yeah. Hewitt can even injure himself before a match. Before the match against Roddick, he started subtlety hinting towards his hip (which he had surgery on around this time last year) starting to tingle again.

Commentators seem to be picking up on Murray losing his strategy a bit here and getting overwhelmed by Roddick, not too sure though, no breaks of serve or anything yet.

Roddick claims the fourth set through a tiebreak. We get the Federer Roddick final. Should be a good match on the grass.

4-6 6-4 7-6 7-6

Yep, in true Scottish fashion, a brave defeat for Murray.

Yeah was a decent match. Murray can whip out crazy shots like no one else. Except maybe Nadal.

I assume everyone's picking Federer for the final? Roddick has had a pretty good run this year (notably the last two matches), anything could happen.
I'm still tipping Fed though.

It'd be silly to do anything else. He looks in supreme form at the moment.

Roddick's looking good. That 75% first serve in is paying dividends. To be able to keep that level of power and accuracy motoring against one of the best returns in the game was critical. If he can continue that level of quality then he could cause Federer a few problems, but it's a massive ask to keep serving so consistently. Nice to see Roddick back where he belongs amongst the top players.

Been some good games around this year, but still a pity that Nadal couldn't make it.

It totally buggered up my afternoon......and I missed the live coverage of the Tour de France, so I'm being forced to watch the (seriously) edited highlights now. :x

But what a match!!

It was an amazing match, especially in the 5th set. I think Roddick must have played one of his best matches ever. I'm pretty sure he would have won it if he had won the 2nd set. Still, I wanted Federer to win, so all's well that ends well :)

Great match. Felt a bit bad for Roddick, as he put everything into that final. He was hitting 80% first serves in at one point. I still thought he was looking like the one to win it as the fifth set turned epic. Suddenly ran out of gas and that was it - that single break when it mattered most. All credit to Federer for his performance though. For all of Roddick's big serving, it was Fed who walloped 50 aces and over a hundred winners.

Time difference is strange with the US Open. The day begins at 12:30am and wraps up at 2:30pm.
Not a bad thing to wake up and watch some tennis. Wtahcing Ivanovic vs Bondarenko at the moment, an intriguing first round match, coming up to 4-3 in the third set.
