Top 10 Television Couples

Postby CatNamedRudy » Thu May 22, 2008 5:18 pm

I searched and didn't see a thread for this. If there already is one and this has been overdone, I apologize.

I was just thinking about TV couples last night while I was watching Boston Legal.

There are no real rules for what can be considered a couple. It's however you wish to define it in your head.

So, who are your Top 10 Couples?

Here are mine. Not in order though. (except I do think Denny and Alan are the top!)

1. Denny Crane and Alan Shore-Boston Legal
2. Dr. Frasier Crane and Dr. Lilith Sternin-Crane-Cheers
3. Rob and Laura Petrie-The Dick Van Dyke Show
4. Dr. Gregory House and Dr. James Wilson-House
5. Carrie Bradshaw and Mr. Big-Sex and the City
6. Homer and Marge Simpson-The Simpsons
7. David Fischer and Keith (I don't know Keith's last name)-Six Feet Under
8. Bob and Emily Hartley-The Bob Newhart Show
9. Frank Furillo and Joyce Davenport-Hill Street Blues
10. Monica Geller and Chandler Bing-Friends

I'm guessing they don't have to be romantic couples then. (Unless S4 of both House and Boston Legal have seen some shocking developments.. :D)

A few of mine are debateable as to whether they're a 'couple', as they're relatives.. but what the hell, I'll include them anyway.

1. Frasier Crane, Niles Crane (Frasier)
2. Denny Crane, Alan Shore (Boston Legal)
3. Homer Simpson, Marge Simpson (The Simpsons)
4. Lorelai Gilmore, Rory Gilmore (Gilmore Girls)
5. Ray Barone, Debra Barone (Everybody Loves Raymond)
6. Mark Greene, Elizabeth Corday (ER)
7. Fox Mulder, Dana Scully (The X Files)
8. Larry David, Cheryl David (Curb Your Enthusiasm)
9. Del Boy, Rodney Trotter (Only Fools and Horses)
10. Lindsay Bluth, Tobias Funke (Arrested Development)

If 1, 4 and 9 don't count, my next three would be
11. Hal, Lois (Malcolm In The Middle)
12. Eric Taylor, Tami Taylor (Friday Night Lights)
13. Adrian Monk, Sharona Fleming (Monk)

No, no shocking developments in House or BL.

I just think Denny and Alan have the greatest "love story" ever in TV!

^ I just put that up in the original post for clarification.

thanks kindly...I always think of it as a partnership...Phil Silvers' Bilko always winding up Paul Ford's Colonel Hall in some way but then sometimes working together but always for great comedy effect :D

Had to dig up this old thread because I need to add a couple. I can't figure out who to take off my list though! (probably Monica and Chandler even though I adore them as a couple).

Anna and Bates-Downton Abbey.
This is the STUPIDEST day I've ever had!
