Heath Ledger is dead

This is as shocking a news story as I've ever seen. Such a promising talent, such a nice guy (based on what people who knew him said) and with such a great body of work behind him...

So sad we won't be seeing him as the Joker beyond The Dark Knight, as that promised to be his finest work yet.

Got to feel sorry for his 2-year-old child, and indeed all his family.

Very sad indeed.

Very sad.

I posted about it on the news story thread as well.
This is the STUPIDEST day I've ever had!

I wouldn't say it's anywhere near as shocking a story as i've ever seen - but it's sad for his family.

It's a pity for his daughter.

Very shocking news, I enjoyed him in the few things I've seen him in. My condolences to his family. Rest in peace.

Yeah, I was shocked to read this. I suppose he'll be best remembered for Brokeback Mountain.

I agree, both those movies are enjoyable in their own way.

It'll be weird watching him as The Joker in the new Batman film in the summer - no doubt this news will overshadow the movie.

I was thinking the same thing. I've really been looking forward to that movie.

Shocking in the sense that it came out of nowhere, not in the sense that it's the single worst news story ever (because it's not even close). He wasn't someone like Britney Spears or Lindsey Lohan who everyone knew was pretty messed up and dodging bullets daily... and as has already been said, he was so talented, and so young.

Oh yes, certainly pretty unexpected. Sad when anyone young dies, whatever the circumstances - even if it was a BS or LL type.

I expect The Dark Knight will ovetake, actually.

Apparently his performance is completely mindblowing.

He locked himself up in a hotel room for six weeks to work on the character.

Sadly, I think what he'll be best remembered for dying young. :(
