To further explain positive thinking, the basic New Age belief is that we are all vibrational beings and that the thoughts we send out into the universe are forms of energy, and that everything we experience, we attract to us.

Most people aren't aware that they're attracting they're own experiences, it happens unconsciously, but the basic idea is that what we experience, on some level, we have attracted to ourselves, even if we don't actually WANT what we experience, or if we don't know we're doing it.

So with positive thinking, it's a way for people who realise that they can create whatever they experience, through the power of their thought, to get whatever they want out of life.

And yes, I know this sounds silly to some of you, but I believe it, and I hope people respect that.

Odd, random question I know, but do any of you IT bods know why my TFT monitor has suddenly turned pink?! :( It occasionally flickers back to 'normal' colour, but most of the time it's like it's got a bright pink overlay on it! Is it time for a new monitor? There is software you can buy which deliberately turns the screen different colours - to make it easier for some dyslexic and visually impaired people. But I don't have any of that software installed!

In a way, it's quite nice, it makes everything look purple. But in another way - ow, my eyes! The smileys, for instance, are no longer yellow, they're bright orange!! And the little pic of Frasier up in the left-hand corner - well, it looks like he's been drinking too much tango. :D

Never mind, as soon as hubby got in from work at 10.00, we went to Tesco and bought a new one (we must be mad, it's a 40-mile round trip!). I am now looking at a 19" widescreen TFT instead of a 15"! :D And better still, it's not pink.

There's some real bargains around at the moment.

Yeah, it was cheap enough, but it looks like I'm stuck with wide screen, it won't let me change the display to 4:3, so all my photos are stretched out. :(

That shouldn't happen - there'll be a resolution you'll need to change on your PC - go to settings in your display properties and see what it's set to.

Yeah, I tried that, the only options I have for some reason are 1024x768 or 800x600, for some reason. I need to set it in 'widescreen mode' for it to look right, which I think is 1280x720 / 1680x1050. Looks like my graphics card doesn't support it. :? Thanks anyway. :(

there might be a driver upgrade you can get for your card? Don't suppose you know what graphics card you're running?

Ooh, good point! I'll have a look. It's an NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT.

EDIT: Yep, found a new driver - it doesn't mention screen resolution in the release notes, but I'll have a go. 56.2MB  I'm sooo glad I don't have dial-up any more!

There's definitely new realeases for that. November. I'm sure they'll have added support for new screen resolutions.

Edit: I see you've found one.

Thanks for your help, MC.

Now - x a million. You'd never believe I used to work as an IT technician. I've just realised - after throwing a strop and pissing my husband off - why I couldn't change the resolution. I didn't need to download a new driver....

It is so embarrassingly simple that I can't bring myself to confess it. My excuse is - I'm pregnant, and I'm tired.

Thought you'd like to know you're all invading my dreams now! Think I spend too much time on here... anyway, last night I dreamed that we were all in this restaurant together, and Mayday and Agides started a food fight. :? Moon-Crane tried to step in to calm things down, but he ended up getting covered in mashed potato. It may have been because I was watching the Porridge episode where they have a food fight yesterday...

It's very strange because I don't know what half of you look like, and you were still there! I bet I 'dreamt' you all wrong! None of you had 'real' names, either, your were all using your forum names as if they were real.

Well, I...er.....thank you, I think!

So what have we learnt from the above post?? Mayday and Agides are rebels/trouble-makers and M-C is the voice of reason?? :D

I'll admit to being slightly curious as to how you 'dreamt' me.
