Shit, my work's firewall has blocked that rather fun-sounding game!

Mine too! But not for the word "bullshit". Because it's a "gambling" site!

It had the desired effect on me, I was quite shocked! But that's probably because I've heard your voice, and couldn't imagine such profanities uttered by someone so 'delightful'!

Hehe, same here. In fact *RANT ALERT* I got blocked from checking the national lottery numbers the other day because it's technically considered a gambling site!! I mean for fuck's sake, have I just been transported back in time to Oliver Cromwell's puritanical Britain?

'Pro-active' was the management buzzword of the 90s (our company still uses that) and the new one they've latched on to is 'Meritocrasy', which basically means you don't get a pay rise unless you 'merit' one, inflation be damned! Motherfuckers.

The terms "dialogue" and "interface" when meaning "talking to one another" are the buzz terms that make me want to scream!

And don't even begin talking to me about "merit" raises or raises of any type! Because I work for the govt. I don't get a raise unless we have a State budget which we don't right now. And even then, we have to fight and kick and scream and throw a temper tantrum in order to get even the slightest bit of a pay increase. GRRRRR!

Hehe, Action Item, very good! It's funny how those terms from 2000 sound dated now, middle management are constantly coming up with new and equally redundant phrases all the time to justify their existence. :x

My pet hate is SWOT analysis... or is it SWAT? See? It doesn't work very well as an acronym, because I can't remember which letters it contains, let alone what it stands for.

My manager uses that one all the time.

If my earlier post was any indication you might. Though I doubt I will.

What really annoys me for some reason is when the news uses the word "Exclusive". At secondary school in English we opted on this word being somewhat tacky when looking into tabloids, so maybe that's why but when the BBC -supposedly a stalwart bla bla bla- starts injecting it. Even on that foot & mouth outbreak. When they had pictures from inside the lab

"As these pictures show, exclusive to the BBC..."

"The BBC exclusively talks to the parents of..."

It gets a bit much that and the tabloids coverage of Princess Diana now. Last week that CCTV image of her smiling in the lift and the Daily Mail's headline: WHAT DID THE SMILE SIGNIFY?

The Express on Tuesday having a picture of Posh Beckham: JUST WHY WAS POSH IN PARIS THE SAME DAY AS THE DIANA INQUEST JURY?

I mean, really

I agree, MM. I worry about the BBC news as much as other channels :(

There was a front page headline on one of the tabloid scum, possibly The Daily Mail, which said something along the lines of "Diana's last smile" - with a picture of her smiling, i suppose, in the lift. How can they even use that as a headline. Absolute garbage, which makes me despair.

I do have it in for tabloids which doesn't go down well with people. Just grow tired of sensationalist headlines etc. What no so much annoys me is the Page 3 girls having a quote on the recent news

e.g

Paula, 21 from Southend says "I hope that Tony Blair can resolve the political situation in the Middle East and lay to rest the turmoil ongoing for decades."

I'll place a bet that they never say these things.

Couldn't give a fig about this divorce thing, nor the OK special on Diana inquest nor this that and other.
