Here's an unflattering review of The Da Vinci Code by an English professor.

I think each to their own when it comes to enjoyment from any Arts, though.

I enjoy them too, apart from Digital Fortress I thought that was boring.

Now, that's the second time I've heard that. Makes me want to read it just to see if I agree!

It's going to have to wait until after I read Deathly Hallows thought. I just finished Forever, Odd this afternoon (about and hour ago in fact) and I don't want to start anything new now before next week!

I ordered Deathly Hallows from a place I've never ordered a book before. I sure hope it is delivered on time! I'm going to be right upset if it isn't.

It's just technobabble, it feels like he's trying to 'wow' you with his knowledge of cryptography, and once you reach a certain stage in the book, you can predict the ending anyway. I was thinking to myself 'are those characters really so thick that they can't work it out yet?'

Ahhh.......the technobabble thing! I kind of thought that was the deal. I had that problem with something I read a while back. And you know....I don't even remember what book it was. That's how interesting I found it. I think it might have been Michael Crighton's "Prey" but I'm not sure.

I think I'm going to have give Digital Fortress a shot though. I'm a glutton for punishment!

The worst book I've read like that is 'Atlantis' by David Gibbins. I rarely give up half-way through, but it just seemed a waste of time continuing with that one.

Has anyone read any Stephen King?

I've read several. I love 'The Shining', that actually had me running upstairs to check if our boiler was okay! (In the book there is a problem with the boiler pressure, and it all gets quite scary.)

However, some of his other books I really don't like.

Stephen King books creep me out way too much!

I read The Shining and one other King novel but that's it.

I loved The Shining was seriously freaky though!

I know I liked Pet Semetary and Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption (rare instance where movie surpasses book though).

I have had IT on my shelf forever, liked the movie as a kid (though the end was crap) and have been meaning to read it for some time.

I read 'It', it took me ages and I got to about four chapters from the end, when I came across a bit which is not in the film. It disgusted me so much as to how he could have come up with that idea, that I very nearly stopped reading.

You're intrigued now, eh?

I just got finished with Velocity by Dean Koontz, the book is very thrilling and suspensful, I would recomend it.

Read that!

I really enjoyed it. But as far as Koontz books, go, I think the Odd Thomas series is proving to be some of his best work.

I've read most of Stephen King's novels, he's probably my favourite author. And "Misery" is my favourite novel of all-time.

I've read a lot of them, but quite often I find I want to throw the book far, far across the room. Usually when something horrible is happening to an animal in it - e.g. the cow in Misery. My mind can't cope with that.
