You asked?
Well here is a point made per player on the pitch.

1) The players are spoilt, overpaid, uneducated wimps.
2) Football in this country has a brutish, anti-intellectual culture which is different to football culture in many other countries. Here, it’s not the beautiful game, it's pig ugly.
3) Footballers, their wives and the hooligans who follow them, give Britain a bad name.
4) The constant obsession with the fact that we won in 1966 - that's over 40 years ago for crying out loud!
5) Money is everything. The focus is no longer on the game, but the money that can be made.
6) Nobody plays as part of a team, instead as self centered egoistic individuals wondering how much money they will make from the next transfer.
7) Football is taken far too seriously people get stabbed over football and it causes riots.
8) Somewhat depressing that the nearest we can get to any sense of national identity is the Eng-er-land chanting, car-flag-petrol-wasting.
9) The unpleasant brand of mass hysteria nationalism which erupts during the World cup/European Cup.
10) It takes up far more time in all of the media than is justified.
11) Footballing 'Role Models' dont do enough to help the cause. You only have to look at the media for your evidence of players fighting on the pitch & spitting at each other the list goes on. Don't get me wrong it's not all down to the players the FA and clubs are also to blame, they let players get away with murder!
12) The amount of money being conned out of families with young children due to the ever changing Premiership strips.
13) 90 minutes of hell, which has a relatively high probability of ending in a 0-0 draw!
14) It can be on TV for up to 6 hours live and then an hour later we have an hour of highlights, and then the next morning there is a repeat of the highlights. I'm sure I've seen the highlights of the highlights show!
15) Racism & homophobia is rife on the pitch and in the stands.
16) The jingoistic obssession with the "English" Premiership and such pride in our top 4 teams, when in fact over 50% of the players are foreign. Such irony passes over most fans' heads
17) The amount it effects our economy when England fail to get past the quarter finals.
18) Those disgustingly shiny vinyl shirts and the fat red faced sweaty men who wear them.
19) Big screen TV's in otherwise pleasant pubs
20) The constant fucking drum beating and horn blowing during matches.
21) The constant sexist comments that it's a man's sport and the perpetual jokes about women never understanding the offside rule - it's not difficult. In fact I would guess more women understand it than most of the monkey's who shout at their TV screens every weekend.
22) The only sport I know where faking an injury is deemed acceptable behaviour

I am being tongue in cheek before you get too heated!

 Agree with all of this, especially #2! Yesterday in the bar, on the left of the room was the Real Madrid match and on the right was the Ireland match. Needless to say the left handside of the room were shouting like thugs with language that would make a sailor blush, and the right side of the room were standing respectably (maybe because we were getting thrashed ). It's beyond me how someone can yell out in the crowded bar "Who the f*** was that to you f****** c***?!?!?" Yobs.
There are 10 types of people in the world; those who understand binary code, and those who don't.

Ooh, just one win away from a first Grand Slam for 8 years for England! Just those pesky Irish to beat...

Everyone's looked ropey again this year. Can't believe France lost to Italy.

It'd be nice to see England win the thing, but we're so frustrating with our sloppy passing. To be fair, we can look good at times - there's just too much inconsistency.

Sums them up really - they can be awful or brilliant.

I've got a feeling we'll get sneaked out of it next week, sadly. This still doesn't feel like a 'Grand Slam team' to me.

 I've just seen the sports news and it looks like Ireland will have to win by over 20 points and Wales will have to beat France by over 20 points for us to even have a sniff at the Championship. Somehow I just don't think that's going to happen. :)

I can see Ireland beating us, but i can see France beating Wales. It would be about right, though, as BS says, that's not a grand slam team at all.

That's exactly what ended up happening, although I did expect/hope our game with Ireland would be a little closer.

Ah well, winning the Championship is nice enough - Rome wasn't built in a day. It's good to see Martin Johnson gradually improving things.

We were awful, and Ireland finally stepped up their game. You know you're going to have a bad day when you see the kicks that Flood and Wilkinson missed

A win's a win, anyway. I think it's fair to say we wouldn't be quite ready to compete against NZ.

What a pity for the Welsh. Oh well, i certainly give you all the sympathy you'd give to England in the same situation. :D

Heh, I have to be honest I felt a bit gutted for them. Harsh red card but a great effort to only lose 9-8 desite the disadvantage.

I'm obviously aware they wouldn't be crying any rivers if the same thing happened to England though...

Was he really French? I heard his name an assumed he must have been Belgian or French-Canadian.

One of his parents was French, but he's not French by nationality, as far as I understand.

Heh, I'm sure there will be accusations made but the ref did follow the letter of the law even if he didn't follow the spirit.

 They can bugger off with playing that card. The referee gave Wales an opportunity to win near the end by awarding a penalty which clearly wasn't. It's not his fault they missed the kick. Don't think they thought he was that bad a referee when he was denying England a try in the previous World Cup final. :D

Nice to hear how sporting the Wales fans were by booing while one of the French players was being interviewed on the pitch afterwards.
