Mary Poppins

I'd forgotten what a good film it is. I love a lot of the songs and, I love Dick Van Dyke as Bert - yes, I know the accent was terrible, but his affability overrides that for me. Also, people forget that Dick Van Dyke also played Mr Dawes Sr in the film, and his accent wasn't that bad there!

Speaking of Julie Andrews, how about Victor Victoria? I thought that was funny as hell. :D

Ted 8/10

Pretty funny. The fight between Ted and John in the hotel room was hysterical.

Finally decided to see the first three Die Hard films, so, judging by entertainment level and not by artistic value, I'd say:
Die Hard: 9/10
Die Hard 2: 6/10
Die Hard 3: 8/10

Also, Looper: 8.5/10

What did I say? :o

EDIT: Oh, Die Hard 2. They overdid the explosions; unlike 1 and 3, there isn't a villain with a personality, which is imo always a bad thing in action films; almost no humour; no decent sidekick; the subplot with McClane's wife, though necessary, bored me to death.

I fancy seeing that one. Karl Urban looks like he's part of a better film than the old Stallone effort.

It was really gritty , dirty even id say i was quite impressed .... Karl Urban did brilliantly well his chin did ..lol no it was good ..i really liked the baddie to ' mama ' not sure who the actress was but she was bad ass. There is some Slo-mo thou that ob is for the 3d effect but it slows it down for regular viewing ..thats why i dropped it a point .

Taken 2. 8/10

Pretty decent but a bit ridiculous at times. ( like how his daughter suddenly becomes an excellent driver and can flawlessly drive stick). But mostly it was pretty good.

 Dreamcatcher.
I think the deleted ending as shown on the DVD extras is a better ending than the one they went with.

I watched Bridesmaids last night. So many people told me how hysterical and great this movie was. I did not find it amywhere close to hysterical. A couple scenes were mildly amusing but mostly it was just sort of sad watching the main character act like a fool.

 Watched a few movies for the first time over the last couple of nights.

Terminator Salvation.
Better than I expected.
Let's face it, Arnie is a huge part of what makes Terminator good, so a Terminator film without him wasn't a very attractive proposition.
I thought it was quite predictable, but the pace and action still made it a good watch.

Arnie making a short apperance thanks to CGI was a welcome addition 8)

Ocean's Twelve.
A good watch, but not as good as the first.
The one little plot point I don't understand is.................

Spoiler: show
They've got to steal the egg, so they put together a plan to steal it and replace it with a hologrphic replica, right?

So the Black Fox sneaks in before the opening of the exhibit, does his elaborate little dance to get through all the sensors, nicks the egg, and sods off into the sunset.

It's then later revealed that Ocean's gang stole the egg during a staged fight on a train and substituted the egg for a fake.

So, if they had substituted the egg for a fake, had already stolen the egg and got away with it, why did they still try and steal the replica back in broad daylight, something they didn't need to do and all got arrested for? :?
Puzzling

Loved it when Julia Roberts' character had to pretend to be someone else
And Bruce Willis having everyone tell him they worked out the ending to The 6th Sense was brilliant

Shaun of the Dead, most of it anyway. It hits a wall towards the end so I don't usually finish it anymore. But that's just maybe 20 minutes or so of it, still a good one.
