Had my works Christmas do last night. And I have been so exhausted in the office today. But I can guarantee that I won't be able to sleep when I get home!

I'm off work until 3rd Jan, so why the deuce did I wake up at 7am?! Considering the fact that I've had little sleep this Christmas hols, it's slightly irritating.

I've not been going to bed until the early hours of the morning for the best part of a week, and now I'm in a cycle where I'm becoming almost nocturnal! Keren's coming home tomorrow, though, so I really need to get back into routine. However, it's gone 1am and I don't feel in the slightest bit tired.

My insomnia is actually one of the big reasons why I'm now single again. I'm just not made for going to bed at nine-thirty. It doesn't even matter if I'm freaking tired.

Sorry to hear you've split, but I couldn't do the bad at 9:30 either.
Maybe 9:30am (hell, i'm not far off that now).
Current average time to go to sleep is somewhere between 7-8am, and sleep through to between 3:30 and 4:30 in the afternoon.
I'm forgetting what the hell daylight looks like

Haven't been sleeping properly for about 2 weeks. It's driving me nuts. I just want to sleep in the day because I can't sleep at night. Any advice? (Apart from sleeping pills)

Whisky and a cigar.
I need to get to sleep too. I'm needed for three separate tasks in the morning, none of them fun.

I had to get up at 12:00 noon today.
You people do not realize how difficult that was.
Still, i've been awake ever since (even though i'm bloody knackered) so hopefully i'll get some sleep tonight.

That doesn't sound good.
I don't know how you manage to alternate between day and night shifts, I'm impressed!

The only time I've ever had to do that was while working at Anime conventions. Thankfully, I tend to get day shifts for those now.
Working that early, early morning shift at the radio station in 2008 was murder. I generally can't even think about going to bed until one in the morning, and I had to be up at five for those.

Co-Codamol for a bad back can leave one wanting in the sleep department. Adding alcohol just makes the situation much worse..

Good combination. You should sleep like a rock tied to another rock.

Mistake #1
I do sympathise though, it's not nice, especially if you have to be up early for something.

Does anyone get to a certain point where they just decide that going to bed is worse than staying up? Usually because you have to be up in an hour or two anyway?

No, I can't do that! I have to go to bed, even if it's only for an hour or so, otherwise... I dunno, I just feel all 'wrong' for a week or so afterwards.
If I sleep even for an hour, it fools my subconscious into thinking everything's normal.

Three hours is enough.
Any less and you might as well pour another double and finish the card game.
