Frasier: Try it Dad.
Martin: Naaa. I'm afraid with three of us doing it it might look stupid.

(I'm watching that episode right now)

Martin: Oh, no! That wasn't the sickest I was. It was that time your mother and I took that trip down to Mexico. I was real careful about the water, and then I ate this piece of lettuce. Next thing you know, I'm spewing both for accuracy and distance. I spent the night curled up on the stone floor, screaming, "I want to die, I want to die!"

John Mahoney is an incredible actor. He's perfect in this show.

Completely agree. I just watched the episode where Daphne was trying to get him to go to the doctor to have his hearing checked. Her & Niles were talking about how Maris was going to use an old Valentines card in court as evidence of a pre-nup & Marty thinks they are asking him if he'd like a Ballentines.
"Oh I'd love a Ballentines!"
His delivery is perfect in that scene. The way he grins & nods his head is priceless.

This exchange cracks me up:

Frasier: As usual, Frasier has to save the day.
Martin: As usual, Martin has to hear about it!

I love it when Martin parallels Frasier's phrasing for comic effect in this way. Here's a couple of others:

Frasier: No, no, Dad, please. I have carefully avoided all the reviews of this play. I do not want to hear about it before I see it.
Martin: Well, I don't want to hear about it after you see it.

Frasier: You know, Dad, I think it harkens back to the puritanical streak that still runs through this country. What do you think?
Martin: There's a yakkety-yak streak that runs through this family.

In "No Sex Please, We're Skittish" where Niles reveals he made a deposit at the sperm bank some years back.....

Frasier: What's this? Are you pregnant?
Daphne: Not yet, but we're trying.
Frasier: Oh, well, congratulations. You've got all the fertility software and so forth?
Niles: Of course. We're not animals. (Great line!)
Daphne: We're very excited.
Niles: Yes, we were up half the night imagining life with our first child.
Frasier: Yes, well, first child you know about.
Daphne: What does that mean?
Frasier: Hmm? Oh, it's not what you think, Daphne. I was just referring to the time Niles sold his sperm to a sperm bank. Surely you told her about it.

Niles looks flustered and is unable to speak as Daphne gives him a sharp glance.

Frasier: Off I go.

He exits.

Daphne: You sold your sperm?
Niles: Well, it was when I was home from medical school. I saw an ad for sperm donors, so I sold my sperm to a sperm bank...
Martin: Would you stop using that word?! Say "s."
Niles: I sold my "s" to earn some money so I could buy Dad a Christmas present.
Martin: Which present?
Niles: The fishing pole.
Martin: You bought that with "s" money?
Daphne: Why didn't you tell me?

The waiter brings their coffees.

Niles: Oh, it was such a long time ago it completely slipped my mind. You're not really upset, are you?
Martin: Well of course I am! That was my favorite pole.

John Mahoney's delivery in this scene is priceless.

Moon-Crane wrote:Remembered this bit when watching "An Affair To Forget" tonight:

Frasier: Dad! Dad! I have to talk to you about Niles. I got a call on the show today from a German woman whose husband is a fencing instructor who she suspects is having an affair with his wealthy new client.

Martin: And?

Frasier: Don't you find that the least bit incriminating?

Martin: No, I find it a coincidence. Seattle's a big city, I'm sure there's a bunch of German fencing instructors, each one with dozens of students.

Frasier: Yes, but are they wealthy students?

Martin: No, they're inner-city kids trying to work their way out of the ghetto with nothing but a foil and a dream.

Freakin' awesome! I am watching this episode right now! What a classic line! lmao

"You bought that with 's' money?"
'Life isn't hard, Frasier, you make it hard."
"Taste this, chocolate nacho chips, the best thing you will ever taste in your life"(proceeds to offer it to Niles, who avoids it like the plague) :)
Martin: "Well I enjoy living here too,"
Frasier: You really mean that Dad?
Martin: Well, no, but I thought it would get us to the hug... (crying :))

From "Look Before You Leap"......

Daphne: Ya son's right. You shouldn't be afraid to shake up your routine a little bit.
Marty: Hey, I don't see you taking any big leaps today.
Daphne: If there was something I wanted to do I would do it.
Marty: Well you're always whining about wanting to change your hair.
Daphne (in very whiny voice): I don't whiiiine.
Marty (impersonating Daphne): I'm so sick of me haaair. Do you think I should get t cut like Princess Diiii? Ooh do ya think that'd make me cheeks look too fat? That reminds me of the craziest thing me Grammy Mooooon used to say..."

Great scene!

I have two..

1st From The Unkindest Cut of All
"I used to think there was some sort of mix-up at the hospital when Frasier was born. Of course, when Niles came along, it shot that theory all to hell"

From Frasier Crane's Day Off
Well, at least I had a real job! Half your listening audience hears voices already, the other half talks to themselves. If you don't show up, who's gonna notice?

I agree John Mahoney has amazing delivery!
