How can your Dad hate it if he's never seen it?

You're going to have to make him watch it sometime, Ben.

I'd be really uncomfortable watching the likes of Beloved Aunt and Krazee-Eyes Killah with the 'rents!

That thought did occur to me too...

For some reason it doesn't bother me. The humour in Curb is pretty adult, but (luckily) I can't recall ever feeling too uncomfortable or embarrassed. Maybe the 'tobasco sauce' bit in 'Porno Gil' was the closest I came...

I'm a bit confused here because you said in the Torchwood thread that you were uncomfortable watching it with your parents? Was it just the sex scenes in ep2?

Surely Torchwood is much tamer than CYE...

My parents are generally pretty open-minded with sitcom, but if they walk in my room with The Shield or 24 on or something, they can't stand it and walk straight out. I suppose they don't like violence...

Yep. Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks, and all that.

Congrats on reaching 4 figures by the way, Wezzo! [:]DRINK[/:]

I watched CYE with my mum and step-dad, who are very open minded and almost encourage 'adult' television.

I watched that 'Torchwood' episode with my Dad, which is different, because we have completely different tastes in television. He was just watching the show too be annoying - so the sexual content didn't really help. I don't want to give you the wrong impression about my Dad though - we get on fine.

Ah right. Sorry Cakey, I understand what you mean now.

Hot Ticket

I remember this having a slightly flat feel to it previously but I really enjoyed it today for some reason. There's no better environment for the Crane boys than the snobby world of theatre. There were some good jokes too. I particularly enjoyed the envious barbs Niles directed at Roz (to her date) whilst waiting in the cancellation line for spare tickets:-

Rob: Hang in there, guys. I wouldn't be surprised if you get lucky.
Niles: I'd be stupefied if you didn't!!

It was a little slow in places but much better than I remembered.

You nearly came? Damn, I love HBO. I've been watching Carnivale and for about 6 episodes they hinted at a lesbian relationship... I'd say the fruits of my labour was well worth the effort, but that would be too on the nose.

Have I dragged you down to my level or is it the other way around?

First Do No Harm

Unlike Frasier's Curse and Hot Ticket, I actually enjoyed this less than I thought I would. The relationship seemed a little unrealistic (especially considering we've already seen Duke - he must indeed have sired a love-child with Catherine Deneuve to produce Teri Hatcher!!) although I do enjoy the slight 'twist' that Frasier realises he wants this beautiful woman for her mind rather than her body (which again caused a problem for my suspension of disbelief!).

Probably the weakest season 6 episode so far.

6/10

Chess Pains.

I stuck this one on because I'm mystified by the marvellous chess set used in the episode. How lame am I.

"Good Grief" from season 6. I just needed to see that scene where the weird Frasier fan gave a weird, whacked-out stare to Niles.

I like watching repeats. It relaxes me.

I do too, JT! In fact I watch Frasier repeats endlessly!

I like the way you know what's coming next and you wonder how they're going to fit it all in even though (obviously!) you know they do!

Last episode I watched was Odd Man Out, hadn't seen it before and it cracked me up when Niles had his tie stuck in Daphnes tie! I also felt v sorry for Frasier as he sat in the resturant alone

I agree with those comments - it's a shame Kate Costas left with such a weak episode, I thought she had great potential as a long-term cast member.

Breaking The Ice.

Or something like that. I don't know all the titles. The one where they're fishing in the log cabin on the frozen lake.

That's funny because I watched that episode last Tuesday on DVD - and was rather surprised by it. Surrounded by so many wonderful Season 2 episodes, I never really found it that special (although I've always loved the touching elements to it), but I really, really enjoyed it when I re-watched again.

Dark Victory - does anyone else like this episode? I know you find it overrated BN, but it rarely ever gets mentioned. Like the Season 1 finale, it really does have a lovely 'end-of-the-year' celebratory feel to it, and I love how each character is given a chance to shine. As well as being funny, it also does the emotion well too - with everybody coming to Frasier to help them solve their problems. It's got some great lines as welll. An absolute classic IMO.
