Episode Synopsis

As Frasier is giving advice to one of his callers, someone else calls in saying he is giving the wrong advice - that person is his ex wife, Lilith Sternin. As the ice princess tells him she is here in Seattle for a convention and continues to put down Frasier, Roz suggests they meet up again, to which he agrees politely to an air but is seeing with anger underneath. The night that Lilith is due to arrive, Niles reminds everyone of the continuing feud between he and Lilith due to her sniggering at Maris's wedding vows, while Daphne has a psychic headache. Lilith arrives and can't help but still make fun of Niles' wedding vows, while Martin is just so over the moon to see her (!).

As the evening draws on, Niles and Lilith make up and then just she and Frasier are left alone together. She admits that her reason for being in Seattle is made up - she has come because of the letter that Frasier left last time he went home to see Frederick, saying how he thinks they should get back together. Frasier admits he did write that letter and leave it in the apartment - but more than a year ago. Lilith just wants to leave with dignity. The next day, Frasier admits that this letter has stirred up feelings again, and later when he and Lilith are due to go out for dinner, they end up sleeping together. The next morning, Frasier realises it was a mistake and is pleased when Lilith says exactly that, except that she was talking about the eggs. How will Frasier get out of that one....?

Episode Highlights

- The whole opening scene marking Lilith's return to our screens.
Frasier: Roz, what exactly does call screening mean?
Roz: It means I get to put on the air the calls I want to hear.

Lilith: I'm here for a convention and I heard your voice on the radio. I kept hoping you'd introduce Pearl Jam's latest hit, but much to my chagrin, you were doling out worthless little advice pellets from your psychiatric Pez dispenser.

- The look on Frasier's face as Roz suggests Frasier and Lilith should spend an evening together.

- At Frasier's apartment:
Martin: Maris is a little strange, Lilith is weird.

Lilith: Where's Maris?
Niles: She's visiting her sister in Chicago.
Lilith: Oh, I thought she might be sailing up the transplendent river of your love (!!!)

Lilith [to Martin]: Knowing as I do your relationship with Frasier, whe he informed me he had taken you in, I immediately flipped to the weather channel to see if hell had indeed frozen over.

- Frasier trying to make good the situation when he realises the 'mistake' was the eggs.

Frasier Online Episode Review

The first appearance in 'Frasier' for Lilith and what an entrance she makes - the scenes at the radio station and the apartment are just wonderful to behold. The episode is at it's best when Lilith is at her bitchiest, but the emotional side of things that take over in the second half help present a side that we rarely see of Lilith, so although not overtly funny it is needed.
