Last DVD bought

The Truman Show - Special Edition. I know it's meant to be a satire on the media, but has anyone else heard that Peter Weir's (the director) original vision was to show a message about what God is like and a statement of his own atheism? Don't mean to cause controversial debate here and apologies in advance if I do, just wondered if anyone else heard this.

Life on Mars - Series 1 (a series that I really wished I'd watched when it was on BBC1 earlier this year. The public and critics loved it, so hopefully I will).

My Smallville season four DVD arrived today :D It's my 125th DVD, somewhat of a milestone! (although if you want to get technical, I have several boxsets that include more than one film!)

Next to buy is Frasier - Season 8, and following that, in July Cheers S4 and 30 Days S1. Not as many sets as usual over the next two months- I'm preparing myself for a massive deluge of releases in August (that add up to well over £150).

I haven't made any recent purchases, but I intend to try to buy season three of Roseanne soon, and as soon as season four of Taxi is released (although there's no date on it yet; I hope it will be released) I'll order it.

After seeing the movie Beverly Hills Cop and enjoying it, I am considering purchasing this sometime in the future.

My last purchase was a gift for someone else - The Shop Around the Corner starring James Stewart. The modern film You've Got Mail is based on it.

Next purchase is likely to be Frasier Season 8 on region 1

Ah, the inspiration for The Flop Around the Corner! :)

Interestingly, there's an English teacher at my school (not my teacher) whose name is Mr Stewart, and I found out on a school trip a couple of weeks ago that his name is Jim. I immediately thought of James Stewart, or as he's sometimes called, Jimmy Stewart.

I last bought Red Dwarf series five. Packed to the rafters with extras, it's totally worth.

Fantastic list, Strat! :) I've seen a few episodes of Wings in America and enjoyed them, I know The Mary Tyler Moore Show is supposed to be very good, I love Taxi of course, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is one of my favourite films. I've never seen Over There (EDIT: originally erroneously referred to as "Out There") or The Big Lebowski, but I'm sure they're good as well.

I saw the second season of Murder, She Wrote in the DVD store a few nights ago, and am considering buying it.[/i]

The Big Lebowski is required viewing for all writers. The dialogue is sublime. I've never seen Out There either, actually. But seriously, Over There is just fantastic. Steven Bocho, the man behind NYPD Blue and Hill Street Blues created it.

I just realised my mistake! :D

I'll go back and edit it.

They certainly sound interesting, anyway.

But now my comeuppance is redundant. :D

If you're interested I can send you a copy of The Big Lebowski script in .pdf format. Drop me a line.

I've had an idea.

Check that post again. It should no longer be redundant, now.

Thanks for the offer, by the way, Strat, I'll PM you regarding it later. :)

Aha, American Graffiti! I like that film; I have it myself. What do you think of the music, Strat?

Well done on the Back to the Future and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest purchases, Strat, they're both great films! :) I saw My Cousin Vinny in America a while back, and really liked it - Joe Pesci is Vinny, who I know best as horrible burglar Harry from Home Alone and Home Alone 2.

I've heard that Ferris Bueller... and Walk the Line are supposed to be good, as is Third Rock From the Sun, and your other purchases sound interesting too. I hope you enjoy them! :)

"Morbidly obese", heh. :D

Last bought Alias season 2. Plan to buy the third season at the end of this month, and the eighth season of Frasier (mainly because I want my collection to be complete!)
