Bee Gees Fan wrote:Well done on the Back to the Future and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest purchases, Strat, they're both great films! :) I saw My Cousin Vinny in America a while back, and really liked it - Joe Pesci is Vinny, who I know best as horrible burglar Harry from Home Alone and Home Alone 2.

Joe Pesci is one of the best character actors to watch. He's classic in Goodfellas, and also does a fine turn in Casino, amongst others.

Bee Gees Fan wrote:I've heard that Ferris Bueller... and Walk the Line are supposed to be good, as is Third Rock From the Sun, and your other purchases sound interesting too. I hope you enjoy them! :)

Ferris Bueller is an all-time great. You must watch it.

Where did you order Curb - Season 5 from Wezzo? It's great that you've got it dispatched so early. I can't wait to see it.

Last DVD you bought...

Postby DHP » Thu Jul 20, 2006 4:04 pm

Bought Grey's Anatomy - Season 1 last week. Love that show! This has probably been discussed before, but does anyone else find it weird that us Brits get the first 5 episodes of season 2 bundled in with the 9 from season 1 as shown in the US?

I last bought the second and third seasons of '24' for £18 each on Play, and the tenth anniversary set of The Shawshank Redemption.

Just had another dvd binge:

Resevoir Dogs SE
Blow
The Terminal SE
Wall Street
Fargo SE
Northern Exposure Season 1
The X-Files Season 3
The Office Season 1 (US)
House Season 1
Top Gun SE
Heat SE

I had planned on picking up the Special Edition of A Streetcar Named Desire but it wasn't there...

Btw, does anybody know what the extras are like on The Office Season 1 (US) R1 version? R4 is very bare; it's just deleted scenes.

Last bought the first series of Everybody Loves Raymond and the fifth season of ER. The latter's price of £23.99 was a rip-off considering that the set doesn't have any bonus features, but the episodes themselves more than make up for it.

I won about £30 at Goodwood races today (Frankie Detorri won me the majority of that alone) so will be buying a new DVD pretty soon!

Yeah I also have:
Series 4
Series 6
The Jolly Boys Outing
Mother Nature's Son
Heroes and Villains

Series 5 is probably my favourite series that I own (although 6 was brilliant) I love all the episodes - particularly The Longest Night because I remember so clearly watching it when I was little with my mum and dad on a friday night.

Ah, cool. S6 is my favourite, personally, but I like all of S5 too, including (especially) The Longest Night. It's a bit like My Coffee With Niles - almost an entire episode set in one place; but still very, very funny.

Do you have them all on dvd Wezzo? If so, which one do you think I should get next? I'm trying to stay clear of If They Could See Us Now for obvious reasons.

Haha. Yes, that is one to stay away from for a while!

I've got them all, yes. As you have Heroes and Villians, Modern Men and Time On Your Hands would be good choices, to round out the trilogy. As for the series, S3 is a personal favourite - plus it has 8 episodes, the most of any of the series sets, so good value too. :)

I really like The Longest Night as well - that's the episode that turned my parents into fans. My Mum watched it when it was aired, and she happened to mention that she'd liked it to my Dad, who'd never seen the show before, and they both started to watch quite regularly.
