It's a good show. Not as good as Frasier, BUT, I felt like it was out of gas by the 9th season, just as, for me, Frasier was out of gas at Season 9. Enjoy!

Cheers is a great show! Frasier however, is the extremely rare case where a successor show is better than the host program. I always felt Cheers was best in the Diane era, although when Shelley Long left, a lot of people thought that show wouldn't survive without such a key player and Kirstie Alley made it even more popular. Cheers was also fortunate to be on in the days where shows were given a chance to build audience. It was the lowest rated program it's first year, and near the bottom during year 2. It took off in season 3, and only because Grant Tinker, while urged to cancel Cheers, liked the show, and kept it on. All Frasier fans owe Grant Tinker everything. If it hadn't been for his enjoyment of Cheers, we'd never have had Frasier.

I prefer the Kirstie Alley years. I also prefer the Woody years over the Coach years. (though I did love Coach).

It's looking good for seasons 10 and 11 too, as the BBFC classfied the promos for each S11 episode the other day.
