Episode Synopsis |
After looking forward to spending Christmas with Frederick and the rest
of the family up at an actual log cabin, Lilith informs Frasier that Frederick
has a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit Austria, see Julie Andrews
and have dinner with her ('The Sound of Music' is Fredericks favourite
movie). This leads to a row with his father and he ends up deciding to
stay at home for Christmas and do the noon - 4pm slot on KACL that Bulldog
is trying to get other people to do. After a quite depressing show, he
ends up at 'Lou's Place' where a lot of homeless people go for their Christmas
meal. Having eaten, he realises he has left his wallet at the station
but the others don't believe him and they have a whipround for him, leaving
Frasier feeling very humbled.

- Eddie hiding under a pillow after Frasier and Martin fight.
Callers to the Christmas show:
Caller 1: I've fallen so many times in the shower, they can't
fit any more pins in my hip.
Caller 2: I remember that Christmas when I ran into my mother's room, tears streaming down my face, and I said "Mummy, Mummy, the puppy Santa gave me won't woke up"
At Lou's Place:
Guy: How's that Turkey Platter - as good as last years?
Frasier: I'm not sure this isn't last years.
Frasier Online Episode Review |
A lovely Christmas themed episode, complete with the requisite fighting between the Cranes about Christmas decorations and a wonderful Niles and Eddie bit where, unbeknownst to Niles, Eddie laps up from milk from a cup - immediately followed by Niles taking a sip too! The callers to Frasier's ever-more depressing Christmas show were great too. The ending is perhaps a little heavy handed in the way it humble's Frasier but still this is a minor quibble in a very enjoyable episode.
